My Favorite is when broadcasting pundits say things like "This team beat five teams that were ranked when they played" - with none of those teams even being at .500 at the end of the season.
Clemson has a weak schedule…because all of their opponents have 1 loss in the bag before the season starts, and conference teams still have to play each other. Multiple losses means teams suck. We started out #3, so of course we are better than everybody we play. If we don’t run the table, we’re weak.
But in the SEC, they all get propped up early because they have no losses. When they have losses, they are discounted, because “SEC means more”. Wins are amplified, because “SEC means more”. SEC means more because press makes it mean more. Congrats to Georgia for beating a top 5 team. But the SEC bias is tiresome.
