It’s amazing how many shortstops are being picked so far in the first round. It is 15 picks in & all 9 position players picked so far are all shortstops. Also, 8 of the 9 position players so far are high school players. Very interesting.

High School players tend to go higher since you’ll want to convince them to sign with the MLB team, and they are younger than college players

True. But, the fastest path to the majors through the minors is college baseball players. Well developed college baseball players almost always get to the majors much quicker than high school players. When a team drafts a high school player it is more of a long term pick than it is when you pick a good well developed college player. Most of these high school players take longer to mature & develop. Although there is always exceptions.

The number of HS players so far is wild, as is the number of Tennessee players drafted. I believe they’ve had like 4 in the first round and a couple of commits drafted. Some on here hate Vitello, but the results speak for themselves 🤷‍♂️

The talent on Tennessee, Arkansas, and LSU is astounding. Amazing coaches and huge investments keep it rolling.

Yes. A set of twins down the road in Purvis, MS are getting/have been drafted. They actually had the MLB Network filming at our country club today. Pretty cool.
