Hopefully we get a few surprises that step up

I'd say replace Huggins with Dexter Lawrence. Seems like Dexter is more ready straight out of high school. It also wouldn't surprise me at all if Tre Lamar was backing up Boulware pretty quickly.
Does anybody know if Chris Register looks promising at DE for next year with another offseason to get bigger?

I said Huggins because he's had an entire year to be in the weight room and practice against first team guys. That experience will pay off.
I think you are right though, Dabo has an eye for these mid year guys. Lawrence and Smith both may crack the two deep.
I hope Shaq Smith doesn't mind playing kickoff team. He's gonna need to be a head hunter on special teams. Some other guys like Van Smith, Tanner Muse, Jeffrie Gibson really need to step up and take that part of the game as a personal challenge.
I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at Chad Smith. Watch out for him

The coaching staff is really big in Huggins. It amazes me how some in here are discounting him, but it sure isn't what the coaches are saying about him . He changed positions and had to work in thechnique. With Lawrence coming in this is probably The most talented d line we have had. We are loaded and keep getting better athletes. Some have gotten to the level they did from hard work and Brooks and Hobby being world class coaches. I hope Watkins comes back, he will be a leader and really is just starting to reach his college potential after going thru the car accident. He could parlay being a 3rd rounder to a 2nd rounder maybe a 1st round pick with another season. We are loaded on the DL but Watkins will be icing on the cake if he returns.

I've heard they've bulked him up a bit and that should help his game--he was thin coming out of high school. Go Tigers!!

Good Lord! Looking at the lists that people are posting reminds me of just how well we have recruited the last 5 years. Our D isn't going to drop as much as I thought. There will be some growing up to do with the younger guys, but we have tremendous potential to grow as the year goes on, especially with our coaching staff.
Offense = best in the country
Place kicker = very solid
Defense will have time to grow, but incredibly talented
Hopefully the coaching staff will get serious about kickoffs, kickoff returns, punts, and punt returns. That really needs to get fixed.
