It's ESPN's show. They would never allow it.

Which of the four would you replace with Cade?

The 2500 yard rusher
The QB with the 73% completion rate
The dude who was all American at both CB and WR
Or the ACC POY

It's funny, when you actually look at the players. Hunter was the least deserving of all of them.

1. The guy who may break the 40 year old rushing record, once considered unbreakable, should have won.

2. Gabriel #2. Unbelievable stats against great defenses and took his team to an undefeated season.

3. Ward #3. Most yards and most TDs. Also incredibly accurate.

4. Hunter #4. He was decent at both positions but not incredible at either. Did it against high school teams (best opponent all year was probably 6-6 Nebraska, and he got smoked by their receivers). I knew plenty of high schoolers who played both ways.

I do think the right people were in New York, though I think there's an argument for Donovan Ezeiruaku over Hunter. Unlike Hunter, he was truly incredible at his position. 80 tackles (most for a defensive lineman), 17 sacks (most for any FBS player), 4 forced turnovers. I don't really see an argument for Cade. He had a very good season. But others had better seasons, and unfortunately, Cade's worst games came in the games everyone watched. His horrible performance against UGA on national television pretty much doomed his chances. If you took his stats, but we were 12-1, I think he would have gone over Ward.
