Anybody ever go to the Clemson sports camps?

I did Cliff Ellis's basketball camp in middle school, and Kriese's tennis camp in high school. I think I saw Cliff show up once and it was lame. Tennis camp was ok, but there were a ton o' yankees.

Wasn't too bad, but the middle of July is a horrible time to practice football. Hot was an understatement.

We went to Charley Pell's camp as a high school team.

Good camp. We actually got coached and worked hard. The high profile recruits got catered to, ridden around in golf carts, never seemed to eat with the 'campers', and rarely participated in drills. My position coaches for the week were Danny Ford for OL and Mike Bugar for DL. Bugar was the meanest cuss of a human being I had ever met to that point in my life. A week with coach Ford and I would have run through a brick wall for the man. I completely understand why he was a successful head coach. I saw Charley Pell one time all week...he met us getting off the bus on arrival. I probably could not have passed a breathalyzer after just smelling the man's breath. He was three sheets to the wind at 2 in the afternoon. All in all, a very good fundamentals camp. Too bad it didn't seem to help us much going forward. We were 0-10 my soph year, 1-9 my junior year, and 2-8 my senior year.

Anyone care to guess what time we were supposed to be in there in the mornings? Jack would say "Be here at quarter of 9 in the morning".... when do you think that is?

We had to go to Wofford for "Wing-T" camp.

Turns out we knew more about running the Wing-T than they did. All we did was develop bad habits.

it confused the heck out of our Einstein defensive ends. I was one of them, but a backup, and Fairfield ran that stuff perfectly. I got killed by a few pulling guards, etc...

They were good. Clover was decent then too, but they didn't have Jet Turner yet. They had Owen and Haseldon.
