I am no expert... I always call them a common chicken snake.... Fun to catch... Will bite you if you aggravate them. Doesn't hurt though.

I stand corrected you are right they mostly just eat rats. But have been known to kill other snakes.

Common Rat Snake. Non poisonous, and they do catch a lot of rats.

Looks like a Leaktite barrel produced in Leominster Massachusetts.
Can't quite narrow down the year, but looks like it could be a 2017 or 2018 model.
Possibly earlier.
Hard to say.
I wonder why it's upside down with a dead rat snake on it.
