Any of you guys or gals

Oct 26, 2022, 2:28 PM

Remember that earthquake tremor around 2009-2010 in Greenville, SC? First time in my life I’ve ever felt something like that. Well I’m in California this week for work and yesterday Cali had an earthquake in San Jose, around a 5.1. Not that crazy but it lasted longer and just threw my equilibrium off. Very odd feeling when they occur. Anybody else have any experience with this?

I think it was centred in Virginia somewhere and we felt it all the way in SC. Yesterday’s earthquake out here just brought back that memory. I just wasn’t sure if it was 2009 or 2010.

It was in 2011, centered south of DC...I was in a conference

in Albany, NY...it was very noticeable there. Hard to describe, but felt very strange!

2011 Mineral VA (Southwest of DC by quite a ways)

I was in DC at the time... it was a "woah" moment and then we straighten up the lawn gnomes and all way good. It wasn't a "biggin" but due to the population density and novelty, it is the most felt

No but I do get nervous everytime I go to California (go about once or twice a year) that I'm gonna be there for the big one and get swept into the pacific ocean with the rest of the state.

Dang, I could be wrong about the time frame in South Carolina, maybe it was 2011. Now I gotta go do some research just too make sure I’m not losing my mind. ??

I was in a hotel in San Diego in June 2005 when there was a 5.6 earthquake. That was weird and scary being in a high rise hotel swaying. Played a great round of golf the next day using rented clubs. Still use the same Mizuno brand blades today.

That was 2011 and in VA, I’m east of Greenville and didn’t feel it, had many friends say they felt it and didn’t believe them. I did feel the 2014 quake in edgefield that night. Felt it and noticed the blinds shaking and light fixture swaying, and was like no way that was a earthquake. Well it was lol.

Oh I couldn’t ether in 2014, I called my dad who’s like 5 miles away and had to ask him if he felt it. He said yeah glad I wasn’t the only one. Of course mom didn’t believe both of us until the local news reported it. Lol

I heard about the Virginia earthquake right before i turned a corner and found my daughter's entire school sitting on the front lawn because they had evacuated the school. Six months later the fourth & fifth grades had a trip to DC and the Washington monument and National Cathedral were still covered in scaffolding. Funny how you start telling time based on the age of your kids.

Your not the only one. My dads legend for his kids age is ether Sid Breams slide, or Dale Earnhardts death. Then he’ll add up the years.

Was in Las Vegas in 99 and there was an earthquake centered in California that woke us up in the middle of the night. Was staying on the 18th floor and the walls were swaying. It’s really odd when you are sound asleep and wake up to that. We threw on our clothes and walked down 18 flights of stairs with the others coming down. When we got to the bottom floor there were still people in the casino gambling who said they didn’t feel anything.
