Andrew Mukuba: “To my Clemson family, thank you for the three unforgettable years. No place has changed my life more than Clemson did. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to be a Clemson Tiger. Clemson will always be a part of me.”

That’s honestly a pretty mature perspective. I hope he crushes it in the league.

I never understood the hate from some on him when he left. He made a sound decision to secure his financial future and better his craft. Looks like he made the correct call too.

Good Job. Good Luck. Stay Humble.

I honestly believe it was more about going home. Money was there no doubt but going back home seemed to be a big deal to him.

He is a class act. He would have been compensated here. Maybe not as much, but not enough to make a difference. I also believe, in addition to what you said, there was truth in the disagreement with coaching, reps etc. Perhaps he foretold the future and Wes/Conn not putting him in the best position to win.

He'll do well in the NFL. Actually like to see him in Jacksonville. But wouldn't mind cincy if tee stays.

He should've kept those matters to himself unless he was mistreated. Nothing to gain by his reasoning for leaving Clemson.

Mukuba was smart enough to see that Wes Goodwin couldn't help him with making his lifelong dream of having a future in the NFL sustainable. As soon as the kid recognized that he done exactly what he was supposed to do, he packed his bags and got away from Goodwin on the first thing that would make his trip back to Texass the quickest. No one should ever be blamed for doing what they believe will be the best thing for their future. There will be some that will hold him leaving against him but he should never give what somebody else thinks a second thought bc he is the one that will take every step through his life. Good luck to you Andrew Mukuba, and always remember that going with the wind of life will help your steps through life easier to take...

Met him three years ago while he was at Clemson.. He was nursing some injuries then and did not play the game I attended. He was very humble and we had a good conversation, mostly about his move east to play ball. He is not really big so his pop must be pretty special...

Honestly, I don’t think he really would have left if he didn’t have a child on the way. Dude probably just wanted his family around to see his kid. Good for him, glad for the time he gave us at Clemson, and I think we maintained at safety relatively well in his absence. Appreciate his recognition of Clemson.

Correct me if I am wrong here but from my memory Mukuba had been bumped down the depth chart some. I never really understood why as his play early on was lights out. Maybe injury or disciplinary but I was not surprised when he transferred.

Glad to hear he appreciates his time at Clemson. He didn’t have to say that. Shows a lot of maturity and class.

IMO Mukuba is the perfect example of how to handle a transfer. He transferred for personal reasons but didn't burn any bridges and remained grateful to the people that helped get him to where he is now, regardless of which school they coached at. He will always be welcomed back here because of that. Some guys will go out with a loud bang or burn bridges, trash old coaches, fans, etc. Mukuba hasn't done any of that I always root for him because of it.

Makuba has a child, and he likely received significant compensation going back to Texas. If he uses his money to support his child, he made the right decision and should be admired.

He gave his all as a Tiger and never left anything on the field. Hopefully, he will have a long and successful NFL career.
