If we don’t push them around 400 yards rushing we got problems.

I expect 150 yards rushing for us and 300 yards passing.

They do all of that stunting and twisting to compensate for the lack of bulk. Its very disruptive and a big reason why gap blocking struggles vs them. Zone blocking scheme should get them moving so long as the backside of the OL do a good job.

A lot of 3-3-5. They try to cause issues structurally instead of just lining up and beating your personnel.

they play a 3-3-5.
We've had issues with that Defense trying to force things through the air. That said, if Shipley and Mafah doesn't combine for 200 yards we've probably done something wrong.

Syracuses scheme is designed to stop the run and they do it well.

We’re going to have to be able to beat them through the air, and we will.

Pretty sure they have schemes in place to compensate for that

However, we did run for almost 300 yards on them last year. & that seems to be what we lean into when we have a close game w/ them (see 2018 also).
Hoping we have strong running attack that forces them get so dialed in trying to stop it that it opens up the Tiger passing game for a big day

Oh no, we know how it works. It has at least cost us two wins when we have used it. Hopefully it wii cost you the game this weekend.

Small line is only at a disadvantage in stopping pass game. Short, quick D line can actually cause more havoc against run that the big beasts can. What a short lineman can't do well is pass rush or bat down balls. With that small line, we should own the passing game.

We had a lot to go with him. He was also quick. Someone quick as him is kind of best of both worlds.
