The CFP rules say the top 5 rated conference champions get in. If the ACC mediocre teams keep beating one other it could be very well that the ACC champ is not a top 5 rated conf champ.

The Conference isn’t humiliating itself this year, Clemson is doing that all by itself. GT, Miami, and Pitt are all very strong ballclubs. Meanwhile Clemson has the absolute weakest offensive line in the entire country and a secondary that couldn’t cover my 87 year old Grandma Betty.

It is possible but very doubtful, 10-3 clemson was the only team ever to make a playoff with 3 losses

then again a 13-0 FSU team was left out
