They draw the #8 seed in their quadrant, matching up against unseeded Liberty. If they can win that one, their next game would likely be against the quadrant's #1-seed Vanderbilt, provided they can win their first game. Vandy is coming off their SEC tournament win. Based on the metrics/opinions I've seen and heard, I think getting in and being seeded was a great outcome for the Tigers in terms of what we could've reasonably expected. Let's dance!

I know. I'm actually shocked. Really a testimony to the acc and Eddie's cred. I honestly didn't think we had quite enough.
We're a young group and if Eddie can keep them together, this will prove invaluable. Thanks for posting dkc.

And agreed. After the Notre Dame game when we were sitting at 0-3-2, I honestly thought we were out of it. I thought it was a good-looking young group with a lot of future potential, some nice pieces, and great depth, but I thought based on what we'd seen so far, they just weren't quite ready yet. They were playing against elite competition, including a lot of more experienced teams, and injuries were mounting for the Tigers, particularly for our veterans. Tobia tore her ACL preseason, Bodak and Davis have been out since the 1st 2 games (Davis tried to come back a couple times, but was ineffective), Manousos and Brathwaite have been out for most of the year, Duff got injured and has been out since about halfway through ACC play, and there are a few others as well. That's a devastating injury list, including both your captains. I really thought it was gonna take another year. But they turned it around, starting with that Castenfelt miracle against 'Cuse. They then won every game the rest of the season, except for the last one against top-10 Duke. And for what it's worth, I actually think that Duke game was the best they've played all season by far. Similar to softball, this team is MUCH better than the one that started the season, and they've really started to find their roles. I think they could really surprise some people here in the tournament.

Evidently, they've changed the regional format that they used for the women a couple years ago. So that means the Tigers will get to play the Liberty game here at Riggs!
