A little Wednesday afternoon nostalgia

Feb 13, 2013, 2:29 PM

Watching Sam Perrys' dunk took me back to some good days. I don't know what it was about that team with Cliff Hammonds running the point, James Mays bullying in the paint, and Sam Perry jumping over eveybodys heads, but I really liked watching those guys and the way they played together. Maybe I'm being a little nostalgic, but i kinda miss those guys. Not saying I'm not happy with the payers that we have now, but I hope I look back on these players the same way I do with Mays, Perry, and Hammonds.

And for the life of me, i can't find where any of them are now. I don't think they're playing ball, are they?

Mays is doing quite well in the D-League

He is averaging 16 points and 10.6 rebounds. Not too shabby.

Not Shabby at all. I always thought that he had a good shot at doing rather well after college. After Purnell had him running the full court press all game long, I feel like it took his play into another gear. Good for him getting after it in D League!

He should get a chance at the NBA soon. He has a great game and fits the NBA mold. If he finds the right situation and place he could be very successful in the NBA.
