I hadn't seen this quote in years, but I did roughly remember it. I wasn't around in 1956, some of you were and may remember it live. It is almost prophetic that Khrushchev uses the word "awaken" as it relates to all the "woke" craziness of late.
"We will take America without firing a shot ... we will bury you!
"We can't expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism.

I don't think it worked seeing how the Soviet Union collapsed. So you could look at it as a strength not a weakness.

Just like the Devil needs God...Maybe the US Needed the USSR. I guess every old fart worries about the next Generation's ability to keep this nation great.
I stood the wall for well over 10 years and did my small part to end the Soviet empire, I hope these kids today can do it for the asymmetrical threats we face today.

I don’t get involved in political discussions typically. But I do completely agree about the education board entry in your list. My kids are young, but even at small local levels it is very obvious that there is complete incompetence and corruption.

1 in middle. It's not good at all and seemingly getting much worse very quickly. We are ditching public for private. Private has its issues, but it's time to eliminate the indoctrination, CRT and unbalanced treatment of students. The worse the students' behavior, attitude and academics, the more they are catered to.... That is a fact.

As a retired enlisted Marine I have had my kids in private schools from the git-go. Definitely hurt financially but my son and daughter have proven us right. Public schools are government indoctrination camps focusing on everything but the 3 Rs, fighting school choice, and as always begging for more taxpayer dollars.
