Dabo needs to step up his game and earn that $11.5 mil. But. Dabo IS our coach. And we need to stick with hin through the bad seasons. So let's just stop any nonsense about firing him. I know the vast majority on this board agree with this but the topic still arises.

I agree. He may need a little nudge to carve out the former players from the staff and in key positions.

This is crazy talk also. If Clemson fired Dado they deserved to go to the bottom and stay there. Clemson is not a blue blood. A few Clemson fans act like they are one of the top 4 winningist programs ever and could hire anyone they wanted to. But that is not the case.
So that is why that ain't happening...

We have one of the highest paid coaches in the entire sport, we are one of the most well funded programs in the sport with some of the best facilities in the sport and yes, if you go by modern times, we ARE actually a blueblood program. So , like I said, absolutely CLUELESS. Like the majority of your posts.

Exactly, who would they get? He earned the right to weather the storms. He will be the one to call it quits. Maybe the rest of the ACC has caught up while Clemson is down.

You take the literal route that no one is calling for his firing. At least not right now. Because you are very careful with your verbiage so you can claim “I didn’t say that” when you say something that people call you on.
Who here has called for his resignation? Or said that he should do the “right thing” and leave on his own. And maybe give back some or all of the buyout. You can’t make these things up. They were said on this site. With some frequency lately.
Who here wants him gone if he doesn’t adjust to the way they want him to run the program (this is the category you fall in, in case you don’t recognize it). And no, I’m not going to research the post where you said this, because if you have an honest bone in your body, you would admit you said it.
And yes, some on here have called for his firing, if not this year, then next year or the year after if he doesn’t run the program the way they think it should be run.

This is where he plays semantics and asks you to provide a quote where he said “Dabo should be fired”. He says things in a way where he thinks he can’t be called out for it and where he will deny it. Or adds qualifiers like “if he doesn’t do this or that” then he needs to go. It’s part of the same old tired schtick.

I want him gone yesterday and I’m not afraid to say it regardless what most here think.
It’s over yall. The days of any kind of championships are over for him for all the reasons that’s already been stated over and over.
No coach has ever risen to the top… fell back down to earth and then regained status at the top of the mountain. Even if there were an example… this is a totally different world we live in now.
You have to use the portal period. You have to lead with NIL in recruiting period. You have to go hire the best and most qualified guys for coaching positions that you can obtain. These are all “must do’s” in today’s college football. It’s not optional and neither is dipping in a toe so you can say… see! I used it!
It’s not even about winning national championships… we’re not even going to compete for ACC titles going forward which means no playoffs. Any non playoff bowl game doesn’t mean anything anymore and we would have trouble even fielding a roster for those bc players aren’t going to risk injury in that situation.
Go head… coot coot coot… I honestly don’t care.
Is he going to be fired? Nope not anytime soon. His seat isn’t even warm… yet. Let’s revisit 2 years from now after this fan base sees what’s coming down the barrel going forward and most will feel different by then.
Our only hope is he gets with the times and starts doing all the necessary things to get us back to the top but his ego isn’t going to allow it bc doing these necessary things would require him admitting he was wrong and he’s never going to do that. At least not to the level he needs to do it.
So yes… I may be on a limb by myself and that’s ok bc anyone paying attention can see what’s coming. Flipping players from Northwestern is surely going to put us back on top right? Just smh
Watch the decommits that are coming bc more surely are and watch what we replace them with instead of going the portal route. That pit you feel in your stomach when you know deep down it’s not going to work but you just can’t admit it out loud bc of your loyalty to Dabo… that’s what a lot of this fanbase is feeling but by the time they’re going to be ready to say it out loud… it’s going to be to late bc we will be firmly cemented at the bottom of the ACC barrel by then.

I agree 100%. For now. He has earned the right to fix the issues. And there are a lot of issues. At some point though it may be unavoidable. Personally I would give him a few years to get it fixed, it will probably take that long. Unfortunately I'm not the person that makes that decision. I have a feeling that at the end of next season we will have a better idea whether we are heading in the right direction or not.

I’m with Dabo. I am squarely against waging a war of dollars to buy championships. There has never been a time when Clemson could win that war.
If the NCAA is too greedy and weak to end it, (and by all appearances they are) I’ll simply watch less and with much less interest.
When there are no rules to limit the rich buying everything, then the rich buy everything. There is nothing interesting about that.
I think it would be hilarious to watch the Ivy’s (the Ivy’s would of course have to change their rules) or Stanford or Texas buy 20 straight years of Championships. They all have the money to do it.
