An appreciation for how far we've come in 10 years (UGA)...

2003 was my freshmen year at Clemson and my first ever Clemson game as a student was vs. Georgia
It was one of the hottest, most miserable games I have ever been a part of. Georgia beat us 30-0 and it felt like an even worse defeat than that. We were completely inept on offense.
Fast forward 10 years and we played a UGA team that has just as much talent as that 2003 UGA Team; however, we hung with them neck and neck and pulled out the win in the end.
What a difference 10 years makes! I know progress hasn't been as quick as some would like, but it's undeniable how much progress we have made!

that was about as hot aa game as I can recall. I think they year before we hung in with them in Athens so the 30-0 drubbing was disappointing and a surprise

like 48-0. But then again, Alabama and Auburn would beat us about the same way. We weren't very good back in those days to say the least.

I was thinking about that last evening during FSU-Pitt

A lot of posters were calling out Pitt saying how they had no business in the ACC.... etc etc. I was thinking to myself how cyclical things are and how about a little over a decade ago (98 and 00) FSU was thumping Clemson.
Granted we are looking at 15 years ago for the 48-0 butt kicking. And that is ancient history now. But things are cyclical - maybe a long cycle or a short one - but every team goes through them. Just think back on Bama during the time between Stallings and Saban.
Anyway - lets all enjoy the ride. See you all in Pasendena.
PS. I'm glad Pitt is in the ACC. Give them time, they'll be decent. They will make a bowl game as well this year but that isn't saying much since half the teams go to them anyway.

however, later that year...

Clemson beat a #3 FSU team badly, then scored 63 on South Carolina, and then pretty easily beat a #6 Tennessee team.

Beating ranked UVA at home in overtime, but then losing to Wake Forest 45-17, but then beating No. 3 FSU, South Carolina, and No. 7 Tennessee in the Peach Bowl... such a crazy year, but that Peach Bowl is still one of my best memories of being a Clemson fan.
