I have said so manny times that the Heisman award today is nothing about what the Heisman was actually meant to be when it first came about. The Heisman award of today is an award for players that can run their stats up by playing weaker teams than their own with a far superior QB or RB than anybody they play. The they have a bunch of voters voting that doesn't have a clue of what the Heisman award is about or who John Heisman was or what he meant for college FB!!! It's no more than a check mark on a paper ballot voting for a player that has huge stats form playing against much lesser teams!!!

clueless voters indeed, esp. the ones that vote early. it comes down to whoever is hyped the most by ESPN, since that's all those voters know.

Kyler Murray literally won last year because he was better in November/Championship Weekend than Tua.

I thought Jackson won because ESPN kept showing him jumping a player on 'ONE' run!

The first game of the year Lamar Jackson scored 8 touchdowns against a Charlotte team in their 3rd year of existence and was featured on every show on ESPN the rest of the year. No way Dabo is letting a starting QB score 8 touchdowns against a team that is hardly division I.

In lieu of actually building a program, Bobby Petrino used that game as an enthusiasm generator for LJ and his team. But Bobby was using old marketing tricks in a new age. One trick ponies, even if they are great at that one trick, can be beaten by Conference USA teams with decent coaching and talent who utilize modern film study techniques.

Don't trust most of their players. They miss the point of their mistrust, though. They think it's because the players aren't capable when, the reality is, they have no idea how to inspire, develop, and realize that playing a game and getting an education should be a 'team' effort enjoyed by all.

We might have both. Depends how tough our schedule is and how long our starters have to play on a particular season.

Deshaun was the last realistic chance, because Clemson is so much deeper a team now & has so many easy wins in the ACC & they play so many players, it's hard to pile up the stats necessary to win it. In fact looking at Deshaun's senior season, I think those records are safe for a long time

We will have one next year. With ETN gone and game at Notre Dame and new studs coming, Dabo takes off the handcuffs. This 2020 team will be even more powerful than this year, but we should enjoy this year first. I know I will. With an open date next week we need to play more this week so we are prepared for the inevitable FSU 2nd half collapse.

3/4 of the games will be blowouts & with as good of friends as Trevor & Chase, I am pretty sure he isn't going to be wanting to throw bombs with a 40 point lead, also it's not like Lyn-J Dixon is some scrub, he has an 8.1 yards per carry average for his career

Fortunately our guys who are Heisman caliber players are mature enough to appreciate team honors and recognition every bit as much as individual awards.

Dabo ain't throwing them picks. With this and Alabama's schedule the Heisman can be won by playing a half of football. With that said F the Heisman! I'm about championships.
