All you knuckleheads slamming Kearse for going

early are probably the same ones who were judging TJ Green's decision to go also.. bc there were a ton of posts slamming him at the time. So you slam him on here but wanted t cheer for him next year on Saturdays? Makes no sense.
Now that the draft has come and gone, rather than congratulating TJ for a second round pick, lauding him for a great decision, and cheering on our other guys (like fans/fanatics would be prone to do) you slam Kearse.
It bugged me all weekend seeing his drop, but is worse coming on here and seeing so much crap being spoken about the guy. That dude made some AMAZING plays for the Clemson defense. I absolutely loved his moxie and would get pumped seeing him back asking the crowd for for noise. He is a Tiger and one that I'm really glad chose to play at Clemson.
So congrats to TJ and all the Clemson players. Go make the squad and we'll see you Sundays. And maybe next year our fellow Clemson fans can remember to support our guys and remember that we all choose our own paths in life, but most of us are fortunate enough to not have a message board of folks judging our 20 year old life decisions.
Ok, rant over.

Okay - right when you're thru ranting, here's something else to rant about.
Let's hope that none of those 31 teams where Kearse threw their hats on the ground (total disrespect IMO) managed to watch that video where Kearse is letting them know that they will pay. I realize he's young and full of pent-up emotion, but he might have just ruined his entire career - unless he manages to stay with the ONE team that drafted him his ENTIRE CAREER. Like that will happen to even the BEST players. 7th rounders should be more humble IMO. And oh yeah - trying to blame those other 31 teams for not selecting him - maybe he needs to look no further than in the mirror.
Here's a plan for Kearse. Hook up with Mack Alexander, listen to his every word, do what he does, practice like he practices, play like he plays, etc - and maybe some of those other 31 teams will forgive him - somehow.
I wish him luck only because he is a TIGER, and he will always be a part of our family, even if he makes mistakes.

on the ground rather than his girlfriend.
I thought the same about hooking up with Mack and increasing his ability to study/prepare. I hope that happens.
What is moronic is to slam a dude you just spent 3 seasons cheering for. Look at posts Thurs through Sat. It was absurd.

Life is all about choices....

I respect your opinion, you certianly are entitled to it. Few people on here didn't stomp all over Cole Stout, calling him a no talent bum, booing him yet no one could question his heart. So, in the same vein, why should we celebrate a talented kid that, even some of his coaches opinions, held back and "coasted" the last half of the season showing a total lack of heart? He made the choice to quit when this team needed him the most so don't rant and be terribly offended by those of us unwilling to pour praise all over him. As a former player I wish him the best and time will heal a lot of ill feelings but right now, I feel like saying Good Luck is about all this guy deserves. He made his choice and he's living with the consequences. Seems fair.

5 year old concept of
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
But there was almost a sense of joy at his slide. Its the ugly side if tnet. I do appreciate your insight as a former player and certainly acknowledge that's not something I can offer

Soy walker....I WISH I was a former player and after re-reading my post I understand where you could have believed that's what I meant but I would be lying if I said anything of the sort, I never had that level of talent, drive or discipline to be D1football player. Thanks for your post but I just wanted to come clean and let you know I'm just an armchair QB like 99.9% of all of Tnet. Have a nice day.

And values themselves more than the team. His attitude the last 5-6 games earned his draft position. His throwing 31 hats on the ground only added to a perception that everyone, including all 32 teams (the Vikings passed him 6 times I believe) had about him. Wish him well, and hope he understands the team aspect a little better than he does.

I wasn't here for all the Kearse discussion but is there any chance some of them were coots posing as Tigers? I'm telling you, something fishy is going on between slamming players, the R. Gary incident and now these coaches supposedly bad mouthing former players. I think a coot or coots finally reached their breaking point...they're just the type to do such things.

over a perceived slight based on their opinion that Kearse took the 2nd half of the season off and was getting what he deserved.
I'm all about throwing out some criticism and discussing things youd6like to see better.. ST for example. But Kearse is gone. So the negative posts were pointless.

Thank God a team had the ability to look past his many mistakes. Mistakes made because of his short time(2 years) playing defense, not for lack of effort.
Kearse, has the tools, if he'll just give the effort that TJ gives,he'll have a long career in the NFL. If he continues to give forth the effort that led to his 7th round draft pick,he won't be on a roster at the start of the season.
That's just the facts, it's not talking crap about anyone.

I wasn't here for the dust-up either- but I side with the dusters sight-unseen. This isn't pee-wee league in which everyone gets a ribbon and an atta-boy.
I also fail to see the point of a sports board that would ban all controversy and criticism. Might as well just binge-watch the Brady Bunch and call it a day.
So in this case specifically I'd say I saw nothing about Kearse beyond potential (particularly late) that screamed early round pick and he made CU a weaker team while costing himself a few million by leaving early. Maybe he weighed all that against the risk of injury and decided not to gamble- who knows? But saying people on a sports board shouldn't be allowed an opinion is high-horse bull.
Any partial pass he got as a CU amateur went away once he turned pro. And might as well prepare him early because last I looked the NFL is not a criticism-free zone.

Green. What I saw was people expressing their opinion based on what they observed during football games. Perhaps you don't go to games and don't mind if players "appear" to be slacking off. Just about everyone here would qualify their critique by saying there might be something physically wrong with Kearse or a problem we did not see. He was not the same player the second half of last season. I wish the best for both of them, but am also of the opinion that both should have stayed based on what they did during the year.....not with 20-20 hindsight that you seem to have.

There's little need to, or productivity in, lashing out at our guys over leaving early. It's totally within the players' authority to leave. They've fulfilled their obligation to us and believe they are making the right decision.
Anyone who strongly challenges their decision is promoting himself above his level of authority in the life of another. This type attitude toward our players is similar to a neighborhood busy body who spreads rumors and stick their nose in places where it doesn't belong. Eventually somebody suffers from this type activity. Eventually everybody avoids them.
No authority means no responsibility and no accountability. We don't have to live with their decisions why would we assume a position to say what's right and wrong as some here have done? When the boys grow into knowing what's right for them they become adult family members to me. I'll discuss their short comings in the pros and rejoice over their success. I consider anything else an insult to Clemson Fans and our guys who are out their working to represent us all.
If they've made the wrong decision then they must deal with the consequences in real life term$.

Still to this day love Kearse. You're right, he did make some amazing plays.
But if we're going to speak the truth, he also took around a total of 6 or 7 games off. In a team sport, especially when you're trying to win a national championship, that crap is unacceptable. You see Mack taking plays off? No, I saw Mack pull not one, but two hammies in the last two games of the year, and the ONLY reason he came out is because he COULDN'T STAND UP. How about Shaq Lawson, think he would have liked to sit out and rest that knee just a few days after hurting it in the Oklahoma game? Guess what, he was balls out. As much as HE WAS PHYSICALLY ABLE. Want to talk about the same game. Ok, I think Kearse is still power walking trying to catch the guy who ran the kickoff back for a TD.
Jayron Kearse has all the talent in the world. He actually is a freak when he wants to be. Big thing is, he needs to be that way all of the time. Honestly ask yourself, when do you remember him making an impact after the Notre Dame game? Really? Me either. The 2nd half of the 2015 season he was lazy, he was selfish, and all he cared about was getting his. Looks like he did.
