Mike has been there too long. He has lost his way in recruiting who he lines rather than who is best.

Neither have really developed players recently and Makuba's reason for leaving could be telling. He started at Texas and now playing in NFL.

Nate Wiggins didnt develop?

3-star Aveion Terrell hasn’t developed? Reed has been developing talent at CB since he got here.

There are 11 defensive guys on the field and you cannot forget that our 4 studs on the DL that are NFL draft guys have a total of 9 sacks in 7 games. If QBs are not pressured, there is not much DBs can do except try to make tackles.

I don’t mind people actually talking Football and pointing out things. So yes if there is an issue with the defense it’s more on the DL and LB’s
That line should be lock down solid with the talent that’s there.
The entire team I dont think talent is the issue.
But hey what do I know..

Oh yeah Mukuba left for money and it had nothing to do with coaching…. Don’t ya just love the portal and the Nil

AI Overview on Mukuba

Andrew Mukuba left Clemson because he felt he wasn't being pushed enough to reach his potential and believed the program wasn't where it needed to be for his and the team's success. He also cited a desire to be closer to his family in Texas and to find a program that better focused on individual player development, including preparation for the NFL draft.

Reasons for leaving Clemson
- Lack of individual development: Mukuba stated he "wasn't really getting better" and felt he wasn't being pushed by the coaching staff to his peak potential.
- Team's perceived stagnation: He believed the overall program wasn't at the level needed for the team to succeed, citing a decline in the team's performance over time.
- Desire for draft preparation: Mukuba felt that Clemson's focus was more on team defense than on preparing players for the NFL draft.
- Proximity to family: He wanted to be closer to his family, who are located in Texas.
- Perceived program direction: Mukuba viewed Texas as an "ascending program," while he saw Clemson as "trying to live in the past".

In my humble opinion, Eason and Rumph need to move on. The DL is simply not responding to them.

I think Riley’s offense works fine when we have an executing QB, but I do get a feeling his days are numbered.

the instate composite 5 star, #30 overall w/ offers from Bama, OSU, Georgia, etc. He's been a bust that's inarguable. The rest of the 3rd level is made up of fringe 4's & 3 stars.(On the field: performance, production impact-fringe 4 star prospects typically have more in common with 3 stars than they do high level 4's. No empirical evidence on hand to support claim btw)

So every 5* we’ve gotten in the past few classes has been a bust at every position? QB, DL, CB…. That seems more like coaching

yes any fool can see and admit this except for mike4tigers. when all your 5 stars in the last several years have all been bust, the common denominator is coaching and development.

Referring to CB & S position groups of the current roster...

But I don't disagree as it is statistically impossible to flat out MISS (talent projection ohs) on the number of bluechips that it appears we have for the last 5 seasons. It does help to explain how we: can typically have a BCR 30+ pts higher than our opponents and only manage to squeak out a victory, how we w/ a 67% BCR could face a team w/ no 5s & only 2 4stars on their entire roster and lose to this basketball school by double gd digits at Death Valley and on and on. (Unfortunately, if a bluechip player doesn't develop at another school or somehow overcome poor coaching, they'll still be labeled a bust just as they would due to injury)
