Well-seems Tajh & Clowney didn't better themselves by stayin

in school afterall imo..in that Tajh didn't win but 1 of 3 games he wanted (loved the UGa win though TB) and may have dropped lower in the NFL draft in that his weak areas didn't improve even though attended QB guru camp in CA.
And, Clowney just didn't get those easy 4.5 sacks from Clemson as he did last year to "pad" his stats..plus was ill..double/triple-teamed..and may have been easing up just a little to protect himself.
Either way..I enjoyed seeing them play & stay, and wish both young men much NFL success..and hope they remember their schools and give back.
What say You?!
GoTiGERS!

Here are some interesting Tajh Boyd stats
Dec 19, 2013, 3:32 PM
|
|
Interceptions: 2012 - 13 2013 - 9
Completion Percentage: 2012 - 67.2% 2013 - 67.6%
Yards Per Attempt 2012 - 9.12 2013 - 9.31
Obviously all of those can change during the Orange Bowl (for better or worse), but as of right now here is what I see:
Tajh hasn't gained as many passing/rushing yards or as many touchdowns this year due to our defense. Because our defense has been so much better, he's been taken out of the games against non-ranked opponents a lot sooner.
However, even with less total yardage and touchdowns, he has improved his accuracy and decision making. This is why I am perplexed as to why his draft stock is down. NFL scouts are less about big play QBs and more about accurate, good decision makers. Since Tajh have improved this part of his game this year, why aren't scouts liking him more? If the arguement is that he can't beat good defenses or win big games, that's absolutely stupid. He's beaten 2 ranked Auburn teams, a ranked Florida State team, a ranked Virginia Tech team (twice), a ranked LSU team, and a ranked Georgia team. Not to mention, he's beaten plenty of good defenses that weren't ranked (Maryland 2012, Virginia Tech 2012, Georgia Tech 2013, etc). So, what's the deal, scouts?

We don't know what the real scouts think.

All we know is what mel kiper thinks. When the draft happens we'll know what the scouts think. Ask CJ who laughed all the way to the bank.

I guess I really should have said "What's the deal, draft 'experts'?"

boyd has been enrolled at Clemson for 5 and a half years. he came in early from high school and redshirted. I would hope he got a degree in that amount of time.

A big Orange Bowl performance and the opinion of Boyd

is probably back to the same status as last year. What's different is his competition in the draft. He might go 2nd round instead of 1st. But with Bridgewater playing the "I'm not sure yet" game, it isn't clear who he will be competing with yet.
I don't follow NFL very closely but it seems like there is a bigger need for QBs in this draft than the last one. That could work to his benefit.
