NC State at #14?!?

CFP only drops LSU to #7 after getting boat raced at home? Bayou Bengals currently sit at 7-2 with no shot to go to Atlanta.
How does NC State still sit back at #14? Both NC State and LSU have two losses. NCSU's losses came to #2 Clemson and now #13 Syracuse, both on the road, while LSU loses to #1 Bama and #15 Florida. By the committee's judgement, both have a pretty similar resume.
Not arguing that NCSU should be top 10 but shouldn't LSU fall a little more than 4 spots, still having a shot at the playoff is chaos breaks out?

LSU's best wins are against three grossly overrated teams;

Miami, Auburn and Mississippi State.
NC State's best win was against Boston College.

but that's akin to being the tallest midget or winning the bikini contest at fat camp.
UGa's best wins were against two other overrated team (Florida and Kentucky).
I know they crapped the bed last against a bad Tennessee team, but it would not surprise me to see Auburn beat Georgia this weekend.

In fairness, who are our wins against?

We've been more impressive than UGA lately which is why we are ranked ahead of them, but they are up to 5th in S&P+ and at least have a punchers chance against Bama. They aren't quite as good as last year, but they are still a good team.

BC was without Dillon in the loss to NCSU. No way BC loses to NCSU if Dillon was healthy.
That being said - those who rank these teams are a joke leaving LSU at #7. They should not make the Top 10.

Eh...State probably still wins...

Game was in Raleigh....State’s run D is solid and they controlled the game until a late BC rally to make it closer. I actually think State has a pretty good team. State, BC and Cuse are all similar....losses are all on the road for them....they will probably just beat one another round robin when it is all said and done.

Agree with this. Bama has only played a ranked LSU team

A&M has dropped out of the rankings. I also think this is why Auburn has come back in the rankings, so that the committee can say that Bama still has 3 ranked foes (counting UGA) to play. It goes back to the beginning of the rankings. If you rank all the SEC teams, then every one they beat is ranked, so you get very little net movement.

29-0 reminds be a lot of 31-0 beatdown of 031O State and that was at least on a neutral site.
