The vaccine plus natural immunity is 5X more effective. That's why both is better. On the other hand, if you are vulnerable and you don't have natural immunity from having it in the past, you may die from not having the vaccine.

I did read it and also saw someone from Johns Hopkins on the tube this morn. CNN. They stated, if you have the vaccine and natural immunity that is 5X more effective than just natural immunity alone. That's not disputing of what you stated there. That said, if you don't have natural immunity and you have the vaccine you are more protected. It can safe your life. Something to consider for the vulnerable. Also, natural immunity doesn't last forever is a problem. It's generally under 18 months.. It can be as short as a 4 months. It's not a forever thing.

it's unvaxxed, vaxxed, natural immunity (27 times greater than vaxxed, and longer lasting), and vaxxed + natural immunity. Nobody is questioning that, and Dr. Makaray talks about all of that in other articles. He advocates getting the vaccine - he's not some fringe kook anti-vaxxer. He is merely pointing out that multiple studies show that natural immunity is better than being vaxxed, and those who have such natural immunity should not be punished if they choose not to get vaxxed. That would be following the science.

Exactly. I get used to people thinking they have natural immunity forever. They need to make it by the first infection ok. That is iffy for some. Then they have a bit. As long as they realize they aren't forever naturally immune all is good. Anyway, I am on the same page.

A main problem is so many think natural immunity means the length of one's life. So far researchers are saying no.

Dozens in my neighborhood are vaxxed and positive. If I tried, I bet I could find 100 people I know who have been vaccinated and got COVID since Christmas time.
My boss got the OG 'rona (pre-vaccine), got vaxxed, boosted, and still got it again (likely omicron).
Unless you have serious health issues, at this point there's no point in getting the vaccine. It's mutated in to a cold.

Being vaxxed doesn't mean you won't be positive. It just limits the chances of feeling sick. You still have it. Look at 1851 on here. He is vaxxed and feeling terrible. It doesn't guarantee that problem either. It just limits the issues extremely for the masses. So they say.

It’s still killing people every day and I know several folks still dealing with lingering symptoms a month or more after being sick. You ever know of a cold to do that?

Don't say who is tight and who is wrong. You would have no idea. You might want to sit all topics out. I think you are batting .000 on most issues, even aside from COVID. You thought natural immunity was basically forever. Just pipe down for a few days.

I don’t think you make the rules here but I do have question for you. How long does natural immunity last? We’re only a couple years into this thing so you don’t know.

Well they have noticed that for some it is 4 months and generally under 18 months. What next do you want to know? They have had millions of case studies around planet Earth. Are you really that dumb? This a case study of 100's of millions of people on Earth.

Studies found lifelong natural immunity to be life long with the 1918 flu. The truth is we don’t know yet with Covid. but we can say it’s a reasonable choice compared to the vaccine. That is becoming more undeniable. I guess time will tell.

You're serious? Well this is not the 1918 flu numb......nuts. There hasn't been one study that has found life long immunity with this, but they do know that as of now we are facing most cases with people on the 2nd go around who are in the hospital? It's like everything you write is just an embarrassment for you. It's odd. I am starting to feel sorry for you. What happened you to become so odd? You're obviously intelligent down deep. Just out there. Did you have kind of crazy parents as well...or you're just original? A lot of times I have found that crackpots like yourself were raised by nutty parents or did too many drugs. Kind of like CharlestonTom probably. How you jump to the conclusions you jump to is pretty wacky. Maybe political? Fascinating.

There’s a reason studies can’t show lifetime immunity with Covid. Because it’s only a 2 year old virus so we don’t know !!! My parents were married 66 years and the best parents I could imagine or hope for. I don’t do drugs and I don’t drink alcohol. Keep trying. By the way, when you disagree with me I’m confident I’m on the right track.

The studies explicitly show there is no lifetime immunity for the people being treated. It would be people we do not know about. They vanished into the world, because they are hard to study because they don't need help and go on with their lives we can only assume. That can happen if one is rational. They just notice a lot of people being treated have had it more than once. The 2nd time is often worse. I am a walking breathing example. 1852 is as well. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm. I feel great now though. We're not talking Nyquil. I am talking oxygen hispital passed out for a few days almost it felt like with a pneumonia/lung issues, then heart issues for a month. AFIB. Had it for a few months and it went away. I had medication though.

The mandaters wont let it go. I had a doc appointment this

afternoon, a specialist who went to a med school bearing his name. He is a scientist's scientist, from a family of them going back generations. When the appointment was done (looks like i'll pull through) I said, "Look, I have an honest question. You're a scientist, I am not, so I am asking because I want to know. If all three of us have been vaccinated and boosted, or have turned down the opportunity for it, and if omicron is what we know it is, and it is not what we know it is not, what is the benefit of us all wearing masks?" I honestly can't restate his answer, it was so non specific. There was something about abundance of caution. Some people wont let go of the mandates, even after its over.

bunch of non specific happy talk. He is legit: I am pretty sure admins made that sort of decision, and he has to go along with it. I expected either a clear answer why, or quibbling: he can't say there is no need when the sign out front says we all have to wear them. But I asked him for a scientific answer, and he was pointedly not giving one. We've known each other a while, and it was as close to wink as he could give.

It is actually scientifically factual certain masks of a certain quality do without the remotest question slow the spread and protect people. That said, protect us from what? Is it even needed? Maybe? Doesn't feel that dangerous at the moment. Talk to 1852 though.

To be fair, "stop viruses" is the wrong way to say it.

If you meant literally that, I think everyone would disagree. They do. So they do lower the risk in a given encounter.
What they don't do is significantly affect the spread in a population over time. Every controlled randomized test - dozens, I think - has shown this to be true. The reason is math. Wont go through that again. But think 10% risk per encounter with several encounters per day.
Regardless, my question to the doc was not about effectiveness of mask - which is a 'depends on what you mean' question - but why it matters in the current situation. He had no answer, and I am pretty sure he wanted me to know he was saying so. My post was not about masks or vaccines, but the unwillingness of mandaters to let it go even after they are no longer necessary, if they ever were.
