replace him for a breather with your #1 back rather than keep him in, run him immediately again (no gain) and then have him decide whether to either block for his QB or go out down field as a possible receiver..which spelled disaster.

If they are conditioned it will be fine. Back in the day when you played with a leather helmet, there was no subbing.
