Rick was always a class act around Clemson. I hope he considers this place "home".

Not so sure about your statement. He advised Derrick Hamilton to go pro and to skip his senior year.. Rick did this when he was no longer on our coaching staff. DHam never made an NFL roster. Probably lost tons of money by not coming back his senior year.

a lot of ill will among Clemson fans when it happened. I doubt his retirement plans have Clemson in them.

I just wish that it wasn't so important to add Clemson's name to anything negative that comes up around the FB world. He isn't at Clemson now, and he hasn't been for a very long time!!!

Not to mention he is a FSU alumni who’s never shown Clemson any loyalty. His kids went to Bammer. I could be wrong but I feel he could care less about us.

If Dabo doesn't make Jeff Scott WRs coach, just stick with Grisham, as least we know exactly what we have with him, and there won't be any changes of guess what we have now!!!

I remember Stockstill as an up and coming young assistant at Clemson in the 80's. Doesnt seem so long ago, but it has been. Rick looks ready for retirement. Bott Line: Youth in coaching is very underrated. It takes lots of energy!

Out of curiosity, I went back to see how many times we've played MTSU while Stockstill was coach (only once in 2009) and also discovered that we've only played them twice (2003, 2009) and that the score was 37-14 both times.

Stockstill was hired in December 2005.
He had a 113-111 record at Middle Tennessee, with his win total ranked third all-time in program history. He had been the fourth-longest tenured coach nationally and third-longest with the Blue Raiders.
Looks like he was on The Brownlee Plan at MTSU. 18 years

Lost to OU in the Orange Bowl, 18-17 when OU drove the field at the end of the game, then made the two point conversion. Finished 5th in nation.

I remember him being a tireless recruiter at Clemson.

In the 90s, before cell phones were common and texting wasn’t a thing, he would write letters to prospects we were recruiting. He would write some of them a letter every day. He traveled a ton to visit recruits in person too.

him to leave Clemson a year early to declare. One of the most talented players we've ever had who didn't sniff the NFL. Rick did Clemson and Derrick a massive disservice relative moments after leaving the program.

Is the MTSU Athletic Director the same Chris Massoro that played for us?
