ACC NO RESPECT CONFERENCE

Wake is 6-0 and ranked in AP poll at #16, while Coastal Carolina is 6-0 and ranked # 15. But Arkansas is 4-2 and is ranked #17. The FB polls are a joke.

Really? You really think Wake deserves to be higher?

The ACC is a joke.
Wake hasn’t even played a ranked team.

After watching Bama and A&M, Texas and OU, Georgia and Auburn, Iowa and Penn St. yeaterday then flip it over to an ACC game what a difference in atmosphere. ACC with half empty stadiums will lull you to sleep. The new commish has to do something / anything to improve the football and atmosphere in this conference.

Something most of us old-timers recognized

a long time ago.
However, (with no disrespect for other schools intended) he'd have a tall order with our wine and cheese crowds on campuses like UNC, Duke, UVA and, perhaps, a couple more. Thus, several programs, including us, Florida State, Miami, GT, VT, N.C. State, perhaps, Pitt need to strengthen our programs, which will result in greater fan participation and respect.
I'll admit, which I've previously posted, to a 55+ year bias against the ACC...a bias only reenforced and heightened after the 80's Probationgate against Clemson by the ACC. The conference has been and will remain toast. Yet, I recognize the difficulty leaving the ACC due to that foolish monetary penalty enacted a few years ago. Hence, you are correct: the new Commissioner has to find ways to encourage several schools toward development of their programs.
I'm hoping.....but somewhat doubtful.

The ACC just needs 6 teams to be consistently good at football. However, it has to be the same group of teams to be perceived as a stronger football conference. Having teams cycling in and out of the top 25 rankings just creates too much chaos. It also needs to be reasonably balanced across the divisions.
Clemson, Louisville, FSU VT, GT, Miami
If the above teams are top 25 competitive annually then the conference will be perceived as the 3rd best P5 conference. That means 8 or more regular season wins for all so they start and finish the season in the AP rankings. Add in an occasional Pitt, BC, or NCSt and that’s a bonus. That’s pretty close to what the Big10 does each year and would exceed what the PAC12 and Big12 achieve.
The six teams I identified all have potential for a very good gameday atmosphere, and have the ability to recruit enough talent with a competent coaching staff.

to be the strongest conference that year! Admittedly, we've regressed since then, but it is possible.

Exactly. There are 8 teams that will simply never be interested in investing in football over basketball and/or have too many impediments to recruit consistently and that’s ok. Of those 8 schools a couple will cycle in for a good occasionally. The others are basically our version of Vanderbilt, Oregon St, Rutgers etc. They will benefit from the football strength of the core six teams, and are responsible to excel at basketball.
It won’t be easy for the commissioner but that’s the fix he needs to pursue.
