During this time of the year Tnet gets nearly as wild and woolly as the old west. That's a product of the anxiety that builds throughout the off season in anticipation of the return of football.
We call these days "downtime. But they are anything but downtime for Tnet's regulars who make game here. Tnet would become a lawless range if it were up to them but when football starts Tigernet's lawmaker put his foot down.
For now we get away with posting just about any mix and match topic on the football bored. So, I'm hoping this one slips by unnoticed. Still, posters must avoid politics, act half civilized and take to warnings about crossing the boundaries. Nevertheless, it seems like more regulars are locked up or shown the door than coot trolls during these, the dark, days.
It is a pretty wild here and reminds me of this nation's younger years when our great nation moved ever westward.
I started reviewing America's history and of course no historical study of American is complete without the TV documentary "GUNSMOKE." As I watched the film I began to notice some similarities between Dodge City, Kansas, circa late 1800s, and Tigernet.com..
[img][/img]
It's for sure Tnet ain't like Mayberry where Otis comes and goes to jail when he pleases. It's a lot more like Dodge City where you might be be ushered to the slammer at the end of a long barrel 45 or a 12 ga shotgun. Dodge had a hill, Boot Hill. Nobody ran down it.
I'll quote the marshal.
"Any man can be buried up here on Boot Hill and it won't cost him a cent. All he has to do is lose his temper for a moment, or his nerve. Most of the men who have lived that way have lived long enough to know better. You can't trouble yourself about 'em. It's when a boy goes down, some lad in his teens, that you really begin to hate the waste of it. That's another part of me, a US Marshall."
[img][/img]
Here's a photo of Dillon at work. By the way, we got one just like him.
[img][/img]
Tnet rejects end up on STS. Dodge City had a place, not too far away that was like that.
[img][/img]
Tnet is a good place to hangout too.
[img][/img]
But rules is rules and rules here is simple.
[img][/img]
After finding the following additional evidence I pushed forward toward an exhaustive research into the history of Tigernet.com and Dodge City and found more similarities.
When we win a game.
[img][/img]
Lose a game.

We have our Seminole, bretfsu®. He integrated slowly and is watched closely; so, as long as he continues to pound out good post he can stay.
[img][/img]
classof1994 Classof1994's giving deadsolidperfect® and MyfavOrange® the evil eye, both at the same time. I wonder what they did to him this time?!!
[img][/img]
We got our news paper guys too. Here's a photo of Dodge City's newspaper:

Here's a shot of B-Meist® editing:

I reckon a man needs to clean his gun every now and then even if he never pulls the trigger.
[img][/img]
Selling coins, really B!
[img][/img]
DavidHood® spends as much time as it takes to get to the facts. Dodge's counterpart comes riding in after days on the trail of a good story.
[img][/img]
The only sport in Dodge, other than the Long Branch, was horse racing. Like Hood, Dodge's #1 reporter always talked eye to eye to people in the know. @Shorty steps up the ramp to accommodate him.
[img][/img]
We we have our lightbulbbill®, Dodge had LaMpBuLbBill.
[img][/img]
Dodge had a Francis Marion® type..
[img][/img]
A close examination by DSP reveals FM stands for Fe Male. Honesty, the plucked eyebrows were more than enough for me.
[img][/img]
'Whiskey, Sam!!!"
'Sure cutigerbob®
[img][/img]
We've had more than a few guys like Judge Keller hanging around, they hang just long enough..
[img][/img]
Coot lurkers' first look at our latest football commits.
[img][/img]
Tnetters, like the good folks in Dodge, always willing to help a coot back on his horse.
[img][/img]
Dodge City's version of the RAG.
[img][/img]
Dodge had a Spud counterpart too.
[img][/img]
At least that guy was aiming at something when he fired the cannon.
[img][/img]
Every now and then someone gets drunk, staggers in from the Politics bored and post here.
[img][/img]
Tnet's marshall is just as quick on the draw as Dillon. Both will pistol whip you before you reach for iron or plant you on Boot Hill before you can clear leather.
Matt was a man's man.
[img][/img]
He was a lady's man too but just one lady. Ms Kitty, and Ms Kitty was strikingly beautiful.
[img][/img]
Kitty is worth a doubletake.
[img][/img]
Now Ms Kitty could get rowdy if you cross her.
[img][/img] Excuse me while I image that water being very, very cold.
It turns out Matt and Ms Kitty were married and had a daughter. She married Percy's son.
[img][/img]
Percy was primarily a furniture maker but he expanded the business after moving to Dodge. Locals folks couldn't afford much of anything store bought. Life was a struggle cause times was hard.
Percy was a tall, stout and well respected man and he was a faithful citizen and servant to Dodge.
[img][/img]
When Dillon took the marshal's job in Dodge the demand for boxes in which to bury trouble makers expanded along with the area called Boot Hill. Percy noticed the increasing demand and expanded his furniture business to include coffins. Percy constructed plain pine boxes for the saddle tramps, vagabonds and any others ne'er-do-wells who came to Dodge looking for trouble.
Though Percy saw to the burials of the bush whackers, dry gulchers and other trail trash and saddle tramps he also supplied a nice line of tombstones and ornaments to decorate the graves of those who were more prominent in Dodge.
Here's a picture of Percy and me looking for a nice headstone for when I hit the 'POST' button on this post.
[img][/img]
Percy's business thrived but his son became a lawman and in union with the Dillon/Russel heirs continued in law enforcement and part time pine box building. The family is still in business even to this day.
You're probably anxious for this long post to end so I'll leave it to you to conclude who handles the big gun and the bad blood here on Tnet. I won't tag any more names cause I'm hoping that maybe I'll be able to keep this handle. If not, I'll scokup and see you in the funny papers.
TL;DR:
"Just stack 'em up out front, boys. I'll box 'em up in the morning!"
[img][/img]
In case you missed it
[img][/img]
Advertising in church, really Percy?!

If I failed to insult you it's because you're unimportant and that should about cover it.
J/K, Love Tnet, love y'all.

Fordtunate Son for all his help in ruining the OP. Many of the concepts, expressions and much of the correct spelling was his fault.
Please find his post and help me ruin his pulse by giving him a TD and RA his butt until it bleeds.
Deer Fordt, Thank You, SIR!

I suspect that none of these Hollywood cowboys would have survived for one day in the real Wild West. I’m sure it wasn’t exactly like MGM portrays it to be. Go Miss Kitty!

Really weird ! As I was reading this, Gunsmoke was what I had been watching. Very weird, indeed, because I haven’t watched it in years.
