Yeah, they play their yearly losers in conference and then play the high school teams at the beginning of the year to get their fans hyped up. 7-5 at best.

over Ga State, Charlotte, SC State and Vandy.
Possible (meaning questionable) games against Mo, Tenn, Florida, Arky and Ky.
Losses against Clemson, UGA and TAMU.
Of the tossups, they are somewhat confident over Missouri, Florida and Tenn.
Thus, they are sure about four, somewhat confident about seven. Most of their doubting is with their offensive line and top-ranked defenses of opponents.
Will be interesting to see what Coach Beamer can do, especially with Rattler in as QB.

Looking at that schedule I would say.
Favored in 4
Toss up in 2 - Mizzou and UF.
Underdogs in the rest.
To get to 7-5 either they will have to overachieve or others on their schedule will underachieve.

They have 4 pretty sure wins, 5 toss-ups and 3 almost sure losses on their schedule. They always seem to win and lose a couple they shouldn’t every year. Raptor seems to have a fragile ego so I think the fate of their season boils down to how he handles the highs and lows. If he does well, 7 wins is possible and would be a good year for them by coot standards, but if he doesn’t things could implode quickly and they have a typical 4-5 win type season.

I'm thinking 7 is about right. I really think 6 but somehow they seem to luck up and win one they shouldn't. They also seem to lose 1 they should win so its hard to predict. I must confess the latter of the 2 is my favorite

What is it with the fascination surrounding uSC on Tigernet? Clearly the teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You really don’t need to make them look bad to make Clemson look better. The result is a schoolyard bully persona … not a good look.
Heck Georgia fans never even give GT a second thought anymore … unless academics comes up in the conversation … they suck that bad … and uSC is not far behind. At least Tech has a MNC under their belt.
It’s a bit comical, but to each his own.

those of us who grew up in SC as Clemson fans have the Glory Of Gamecock Football shoved in our faces for our entire lives. We know it’s BS and that they are a joke to the rest of the world, but in our state the coots are as thick as mosquitoes and they drown out any contrary opinions. Therefore our fixation on coot nation is based on years of abuse. We may be scarred and warped but our first joy comes from Clemson success and our second is SCar failure.

I got 'em at 3-4 heading into a later season 'wait til next year' stretch of 4 SEC East wins in a row to sow hope, then a colossal thrubbing in the Valley. 0-4 starting out in SEC play but a 4-0 finish. They could get a Gator bid over a repeat Mayo.

No, the Trojans probably do better than 7-5 since they play in a super weak league and the Trojans are the only USC I know of. The Lamecocks also play in a super weak league, the SEC Least.
