I don't want to start a firestorm on here, but I was curious as to what happened with our probation and the eventual firing of Danny. I was not alive at that time, but does anyone know why we were in trouble? Was it pay to play, or something else? With that said I do believe we have a very clean program being run the right way by a very good natured man. We have all watched Dabo grow before our eyes, just like with Danny. What say you?

I thought we paid the price from Charley Pell and his dirty deeds. It wasn't Dannys fault.

and Max Lennon who was the president at the time. Since Lennon ultimately had the upper hand Danny's the one who payed the price.

Some say Clemson was told by the NCAA to either fire Danny or face stiff probation penalties. I never saw any actual formal accusations against Danny or the program at the time he was fired so who knows for sure.

This is one of those things where the people who do know aren't talking. I know someone "high up" in Clemson football and IPTAY from those days and he won't say anything.

Danny and Lennon, which Danny lost. I don't think the NCAA had anything to do with it. That's the way I remember it and what I have gathred from it after all of these years.
