5 best fb players on the roster heading into fall camp

In order 1-5:
1. P. Mafah - unquestionably he was our best offensive player last year. Likely the best player on the entire team this year
2. B. Carter - The talent is obvious and we all know what he's capable of (because we saw it his Soph year), but last year he just wasn't very good. Despite playing a great bowl game, he started the year with a poor performance vs Duke admitting he was out of shape, got run over by UNC's running back in the hole on the Nate "chase down" play, and he was an absolute disaster vs SCar. We'll likely see better and more consistency from him this year.
3. A. Terrell - This may surprise some people that he's this high, but go back and watch the last 4 or 5 games when he started on the outside. He literally gave up nothing. Without a doubt we have our CB1.
4. A. Williams - We didn't get much out of him last year due to injury, but he is our best WR until Moore or Wesco prove otherwise. I'm sure Cade will rely on him heavily.
5. K. Barnes - This guy was a turnover causing machine. He's already the best I've ever seen do that in a Clemson uniform. If he can become a little more solid in coverage (ie. eliminating busts and not getting caught flat-footed), he's probably the biggest difference maker we have on Defense.

and produce..especially at LB and WR. Any production from those guys will be a bonus. As far as WR's Sammy Watkins and Hunter Renfrow did. Can't think of a Frosh LB that started and produced. Usually they wear down around November b/c of not being accustomed to the grind.
The one freshman LB i thought was going to come in a take over was Shaq Smith b/c of being the 8th overall ranked player coming out of high school and all the stories about his leadership qualities that they said he possessed....result.. the guy never saw the field in 3.5 years and eventually transferred and didn't really play either at Maryland. The next level is a jump for alot of players.

Honorable mention goes to to Capehart (who showed flashes of being a monster) and P. Woods/ TJ Parker combo who I hope doesn't have a Soph slump and under achieve like our recent past highly recruited D-Linemen in M. Murphy and B. Bresee.

Included Mafah based on his importance to the 2024 team. Unsure the NFL is interested in any players on Clemson Offense at this time. Hopefully, that changes over 2024 season. IMHO, the Clemson Defense may have 4-6 more talented young players who have strong potential to stick with NFL teams with seasoning and playing time.
This list is based on NFL potential. Potential upsides of Tyler Brown, Briningstool, Klubnik & Antonio Williams will clearly be key for Offense and W-L record.
