5 ACC schools have gone at least 5 years without an NCAAT

The only 2 schools to not make a coaching change over that time period is GT and Clemson. Gregory is 0-5, while BB is 1-6 (0 for last 5)
Every ACC team has made a Sweet 16 appearance since 2006, with the exception of:
WF - last in 2004
GT - last in 2004
Clemson - last in 1997
VPI - last in 1967

the GT and Clemson are the only two teams that went through a period of not having a home court during that same time period.
Obviously the improvements to GT's arena have not helped

I heard that they overcame an 18 point deficit with 8 minutes to go in game ... they tied and then won in OT !

Went to graduate school there. The official university name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. It is correct to refer to the university as Virginia Tech or the while name. VPI is the former university name that became no longer effective once the state university part was added in the 1970s.
