Ever heard of Oakcrest, behind Esso? Idiotic management.

my letter to APM, the buffoons running this pitiful excuse for a leasing company next to Little Caesar's downtown. tl;dr they don't care if you're in danger of being robbed or stabbed and either are liars or don't realize cameras and PCs have come down in price since 1985.
Hello,
I live in Oakcrest #5. I want to bring up two issues which I asked about maybe two weeks ago.
First, I asked for a replacement doorknob/key, because the key I have only fits my deadbolt and not the actual knob key slot. The manager of APM told me he would have it taken care of shortly but I have not heard anything from APM and to my knowledge the knob was not replaced.
Secondly and much more importantly, I raised the concern that Oakcrest is not a safe place to live because of several incidents that have happened since August 2014. My apartment was robbed in mid-November while I was asleep upstairs in my room; a TV, Xbox 360, video games, and 2 laptops were taken. In a separate incident, next door to me the night of the USC football game someone was stabbed. For both of these incidents police reports were filed. I find it disturbing that APM was painfully unaware of these crimes occurring on their properties.
This January there were two different times when someone stole video games from my apartment. The first was the single day this year that I neglected to lock the door before going to work in a hurry, and in the other incident the doors were locked, so I assume the intruder climbed through the window. Yes, some of these thefts occurred when a door was unlocked, but they would be preventable or the criminal would be identifiable if security was better in Oakcrest.
I suggested to the APM manager that he install cameras around the premises of Oakcrest, in the parking lot and perhaps also on the doorsteps of the apartments. He responded with excuses, saying the cameras would not be able to identify people due to poor quality and bad lighting. He also made the claim that an effective system would cost thousands, and said he paid $5000 for the limited system in his office. Unless he bought this system in the 1980s, there is no way that statement is true. After spending 30 seconds searching on Amazon.com using the phrase "security camera", I was able to find numerous affordable systems containing 8+ weatherproof, 720p HD, night vision, networked cameras with central memory hubs containing anywhere from 500GB to 5TB that can be accessed remotely. None that I saw even came close to $5000, and most were under $500.
I'll make it easy for you, here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_9?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=security+camera&sprefix=security+%2Caps%2C155&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Asecurity+camera
Please purchase some of these systems and install them in Oakcrest immediately. They are not expensive, and I know that an untrained individual like myself would be capable of installing and setting them up. To ignore the need to keep your tenants and their property safe is poor management. All of us at Oakcrest will appreciate this addition.
Have a nice day, Creed Johnson

You think Advantage gives a flying fark about you? They just want your rent every month and if you don't pay they'll go backdoor-no-lube on you.
Tiger Properties was somewhat better, but all of the property management companies in Clemson suck ###.

I know someone that will rent a unit to him. And, it's in walking distance, as long as you start walking earlier.

It was a dump 20 years ago. I bet it has aged *spectacularly*.
It was close to Hardees and the Esso, (more importantly, Just Barbeque when it was there) so they had that going for them.

Estate, particularly Jane Brown. Not only do they not care if you get robbed, you are responsible for all damage associated with the robbery.
There used to be a lot of drug dealers and what not in Oak Crest, doesn't sound like it's changed.

no idea if he still owns them, but he was a total tool back then.
Those places were on the edge of slummage when I was there from 88-91.
I could tell some legendary stories about goings on in those apartments, but will not print for fear of self incrimination. Statute of limitations would likely protect us though.
Great times

Identify anyone past 15' with those. He's right in that the high quality ones are indeed that expensive. Still worth it though.
Also, you should just get yourself one for $200 so you're protected better.
