#4 jersey for Watson?

Mar 5, 2014, 4:23 PM

#4 is Steve Fuller's retired number.
How is it assigned to Watson?

With his permission, and probably commemorative patch.***

but i think thats dumb

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

Retiring numbers is pretty dumb.

Mar 5, 2014, 4:33 PM

On a long enough timescale, all numbers will be retired.

simple Retire the jersey, not the number. Have a special trophy case for the retired jerseys in the football complex.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If Fuller is OK with it

Mar 5, 2014, 6:35 PM [ in reply to not that anyone asked ]

then it is fine by me.

If he would have said no and they did it anyway, or didn't ask him at all I would be opposed but if he gave his approval then it's no big deal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the twitter account said thanks to Fuller and his family

Mar 5, 2014, 4:34 PM

so they must have agreed to let him wear it. I think its a shame honestly, whats the purpose of retiring a number just to give it to a highly rated commit? Oh well, just the way things go.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sorry, it didn't thank his family, just him.***

It's not like we're the New York Yankees...

Mar 5, 2014, 4:37 PM

We really don't have very many numbers retired. Seems stupid to retire them at all if you're just going to let someone go ahead and wear it.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right... so in 200 years our players won't have numbers on their jersey's bc they'll all be retired?***

Mar 5, 2014, 6:56 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't think we had any retired numbers. I know just

Mar 5, 2014, 7:50 PM

because you are on the ROH doesn't mean your jersey is retired. I can think of several who have worn the numbers that are on the ROH. Can't think of any #4's though so maybe Fuller's was officially retired.
