2015 Class Outcome
Aug 7, 2014, 8:36 PM
|
|
As we can all see the 2015 class is almost filled up. Clemson is top 5 respectively in recruiting ATM and have 2 or 3 more spots remaining. Most people want Huggins, Bailey, and Settle. IMO that would be my three. I think we could possibly land all three but realistically landing 2 out of the 3. Where does Clemson finish in the recruiting rankings? Top 5? Top 10? Thoughts?

tough to say top 5, there are a ton of good players uncommitted at this point. Top ten for sure.

I will be shocked if Settle is not a Vol and Bailey a Gamecock. Huggins is a real possibility though.

Shy Tuttle may be a Vol before Settle commits. Tuttle may be nearing a decision. They turned down Sterling Johnson b/c they said they're only going to take 1 DT, I guess they're stretching for Tuttle and/or Settle. If Tuttle is a Vol I think that turns Settle to us, hard to imagine three 5-star DT's committed to one school due to making it tougher to get on the field earlier.
My prediction:
Tuttle: Vol Settle: Tiger

Those are good points. Well though out. Those would be big wins for Tennessee and Clemson.

that fills every need we had. Even if we didn't bag anyone else I'd be stoked about what we've got so far.

excited about this class and the direction of recruiting are the outstanding OL recruits that we're attracting. This could be a turning point in this program with OL nasties that we haven't seen since the 80's. We will get the skill......we have just needed to get back to our DOMINANT olines!

I think if Tuttle lands at UT. Then settle may land with us but he may be juco bound. Huggins, Settle, and Bouleware or Bailey should be tigers. I'm a firm believer we land either Bailey or Bouleware. Coaches high on both. I say based on numbers Clemson is a top 5 class but since other teams can take more players they might finish top 10. That being said this class is top 5 talent from top to bottom don't let other sites fool you. Clemson didn't miss on to many of their targets. A name to keep up with down the stretch is MARCUS LEWIS. If he visits Clemson that could be a game changer. Coach Reed loves this kid. Big, fast DB...Definitely a take for those who are wondering.

The recruits the Tigers bring in fit the talent they need to stay at an elite level. But Clemson has never been big on the whole over signing recruits. I believe we'll land Settle and Bailey . However, I have a feeling that we will land another recruit if we don't land 2 out of the 3.

I will go with Josh Sweat and Albert Huggins, plus some January attrition where we can pick up two more key targets.
Get Josh Sweat & Settle back on campus at the same time. That would almost be unfair on the field.

If you look at Rivals

From last year and based on their point system if Clemson lands Bailey, Huggins, and Settle they finish in the top 5 using last year as a guide for the points it take to finish top 5.
I think Clemson gets Huggins I don't see him going to UFlorida or UGA. Bailey I think is really considering Clemson hard or he would have already committed to the coots. Settle I think will be a tiger. Tuttle I thought he was a UNC lean I know clemson hasn't had on campus this spring or summer so I say we have zero shot with him.

We have a talented class so far. But there are a lot of big name schools behind us that are waiting on several top prospects. I think we finish somewhere between 5-8 range. I think we get Huggins. But don't see Bailey coming to us. Talked to someone close to him and they said If he doesn't go to SCAR he will be leaving to go out of state. But Georgia, FSU, Auburn, A&M will possibly pass us. Maybe even Florida. I know FSU and Georgia arein final group of 8 of top 15 prospects. We have a talent class. But I just feel at best 5. If I went by sites I think we finish like this. ESPN:#5 Rivals: #7 24/7: #6

Bailey wouldn't have come to the all in cookout if he wasn't seriously considering Clemson, it's a two team race. What he likes about USC is the distance to home and coach Elliott, Clemson he loves the school and family environment and the other OL we have committed.
Clemson will not drop out of the rivals top 5 if they get their 3 remaining targets that will push them close to 3000 points and that will ensure a top 5. U of Florida class will fall apart unless they win 8 plus games and I don't see that happening.

If we land Settle, Huggins, and Bailey/Boulware, that pretty much ensures as a top 5 class based on the points system. I think there are several teams that could pass in AU, FSU, and possibly UGA but I think we remain top 5. I also see a few of our guys moving up the list to help that cause. Cain and R2M3 could pick up a 5th star, and several others could remain at their star level but pick up more points..
