Stayed a couple years past that, and I left Clemson in 2008 and finished
in '14., online.

My orders were 8 semesters, no summers...anything outside of that was mine to pay for. Made it, and only dropped one class (believe it or not, golf) in my career. Had a lot of fun doing it, too. Just wish I had applied myself a little bit more.

While the Engineering Technology major officially ended in 1987, I was 1 credit short for graduation... Since I got an early commission in the Army(1986), Uncle Sam decided I had to go to the US Army Engineer school for my basic course in `87 and it wasn`t over until well into the fall semester of `87. The administration allowed me to come back in Jan 88 to finish up. I was THE last ET major to cross the stage in Littlejohn in May 88.
Long story, but due to several screw ups, lol, an Army scholarship, and a dropped major by the university, my college experience was a commission in `86, ring says `87, diploma says `88

instead of ‘63 due to some service & then back to Tigertown married & living in WW2 Pre-fab house located then on hill above entrance to baseball park & on existing parking lot for former athletic offices.
Saw Littlejohn go up from our front window & walked past that construction pit on way past Death Valley & up hill past Calhoun’s Fort Hill Home to old History Dept. and then past Amphitheatre to then new bldgs for English, French, etc.

It is had to say when I was scheduled to graduate other than I entered right out of High School in 1968. According to that I should have finished in May, 1972. But if you figure that the initial requirement for a EE degree was 144 credit hours. Not to mention that quite a few of the credit hours were actually lab hours. Figure that all together and you came up with an average of 18 credit hours per semester. This was the requirement for all or at least most Engineering Degrees. I knew very few (actually only two or three at the most) that graduated in four years without going to Summer School. I actually wound up with 150+ hours so when I was scheduled to graduate is up for discussion but I did make it with only one Summer School sessions and one extra football season. If it were not for the money thing I would still be taking courses, much like Zonker Harris in Doonesbury.

I started Clemson in the Summer of 1973 as

a newly-turned-17 year old, from upstate NY. I had applied rather late the previous Fall and when I got my acceptance letter I was told I could major in anything BUT Architecture! I replied saying that Architecture was the only thing I was interested in, that I had taken the AAT (Architectural Aptitude Test - required, and I did really well with it), but had not interviewed with the college, which was another precondition for acceptance. My grades, SAT and AAT scores were apparently good enough for them to reply, "ok, you can major in Architecture, come on down!"
I ended up pursuing a double major in Architecture and English, but I was so burned out 5 years later that I left school with several "Incomplete" credits and took a job with a firm in Spartanburg where my girlfriend (also an Architect) was working at the time. Anyway, I returned part-time two days a week for a couple of semesters while keeping my job just to finish my degree, which I attained in December, 1986. The girlfriend didn't too last long, but I'm still in Spartanburg, a self-employed registered Architect, happily single with 3 terrific grown children (living here as well), and thankful every day of my life for the education and experience I received from Clemson University. (Oh, and the degree, too. By Golly, I KNOW I earned it!) and...

As usual, mine is a long story. Officially, 1963, but if you check the bricks around the campus you will find my name on 1960, '61, '62 and '63 class bricks. I was working on my second degree, working full time and traveling quite a bit on my job. I could take only one course at a time and for several years when they checked my hours I suppose they though I was going to graduate, hence, the reason for multiple bricks.
To those of you who were in ME before 2012, if you knew Linda, she is my daughter.

Linda Cocke? That lady helped me get my college career straightened out. It was a long story, but I ended up graduating in 2008 with BSME... last class I took August 2008... Calc 2. Like I said... long story. I would be interested to see if Linda remembered me. For 3 weeks, I spent more time in her office in 2006 than I did in a classroom trying to work my nightmare of a schedule out.

My intro to engineering class (fall '73) included how to use a slide rule, an intro to calculators (the ME department owned one, an hp), and Fortran. I think we had 4 keypunch machines for the entire university at the time. The Esso Club (we called it Lew's back then) was a gas station and convenience store with a small 12-15 seat bar. Both my kids are now Clemson graduates and my 4 year old granddaughter is a big Tiger's fan.

Like several others, 1966 (specifically, 14 May in the amphitheater), BS Civil Engineering. Clemson was a very different place back then. 
Was ROTC-commissioned into the USAF at Charleston AFB later that summer, and sent to the University of Oklahoma for meteorology training for a year and a summer. Forecasted for the USAF for seven years, in Tucson, Korea and Oklahoma.

Looked thru the other posts, and saw only one before mine ... Tiger Kid (1950) .. a full 11 years before me, making him at or close to 90 years old (I am 79). Gives me hope that I might have a few more years to enjoy the greatest time to be a Tiger ... The Dabo era. GO TIGERS!!!

1971 in Industrial Management, but more importantly, mandatory ROTC at the time, and I was able to choose Air Force ROTC, which lead to a 21 year career as an AF pilot, and also 37 year career as a commercial airline pilot. ALL because 2 year ROTC was mandatory at the time.

1973 in Financial Mgmt. Graduated from North G'ville Jr College in May '67, then did a four year tour with the AF. Entered CU in Sept 71 as a second semester sophomore and commutted from G'ville. Began working part-time with a local bank a few months later and accepted a position there after graduation.

1991, 5 year plan. Psychology. Ran Cross Country & Track. Lived in Norris, Lever (2 years), Clemson House, and off campus in Riverbank Commons. It's funny the things you remember; I forgot a lot of classes and a lot of teachers, but I still remember my Post office Box # and combination and my best score on "Birdie King" (-13) next to that campus store below Harcombe.

Freshman in 1981, graduated 1990 (five years construction experience between 82 & 87). Wife stayed on track and graduated in 1986, after beginning in 1982. First daughter graduated in 2013 and second daughter in 2016. Son will be a freshman this year! Proud Tiger Family!

and graduated in 1990. Lots of great football in between. I did "drop out" in December of 1982 but returned in fall of 1987 and finihed in May 1990 in Civil Engineering.
Met my future wife in 1982 and we had student tickets from 1982-1990. Not a bad plan for attending Clemson games!
