Why are we even discussing this? Dabo isn't going anywhere, nor should he be.***

UNC had a shot to win it in 1981.

Their team was loaded with talent - including a guy by the name Lawrence Taylor. Their '81 team was even better than their 1980 team. But...
As good as they were that year, they weren't better than Clemson. They played us tough, but we were still the better team...

whoever wrote that forgot that FSU ruled the world for about 12 or 13 of those seasons.....would have been nice if we had not deemphasized football most of those years.

You must be a young man. He has a long way to go to beat out Danny.
I wish Dabo the very best and have enjoyed our recent success but for us old-timers, there will never be another Danny.

Just what is it that Dabo hasn't done to equal or pass the Danny Ford days. Dabo is taking Clemson to higher places than Danny could have if he had coached in the same years that Dabo is coaching in. It's much harder to win in this day and time than it was in the 80's and 90's, much harder. I lived through the Ford day's. And it was much easier to stay on top of the acc than it is now. A run first offense can't stay on top long in today's spread offensives of today. See GT with it's triple O compared to the 80's and 90's option teams. The triple option of today is a better run option than the 80's and 90's. And it's not winning many championships.

I love how the knock was "Clemson hasn't won the ACC SINCE

'91!!!!!" So we win it and now it's "Clemson has only won the ACC TWICE IN THE LAST 24 YEARS!!!!"
Gimme a break. I think back-to-back double-digit win seasons is enough to shake the "chronic underachiever" moniker for the next season or so.

Also odd to cut it off at 24 years, instead of 22 years.

This includes 1989 and 1990 before the 1991 ACC championship, but doesn't go back 3 more years (27 years) to include 1986, 1987, and 1988 ACC championships.
So, either say 2 in 22 years or 5 in 27 years, not 2 in 24 years.
Lame.

"An undefeated ACC champ might not automatically play for a national title."
That's a garbage article. No way in hell an undefeated ACC team is left out of the national title.

Do you suppose that article was written by one of those sexual intelletual journalism graduates from UNC!! You know the ones that always perdicted Carolina would win the ACC championship.. Think they may was got that degree by never attending class, like their premier athletes have been doing lately. How about Swannie may have gotten his the same way???

"Why is this program a chronic underachiever?"
since ^^^that question is posed at CU as a con why not ask the same one about FSU?

First of all, those same writers were writing that Dabo wouldn't last 3 years at Clemson. Now for them to try and save face now that Dabo has proven them wrong by being a huge success at Clemson. They are reaching deep into their bags of negative print to toss their negativity out towards Dabo and Clemson. And the beat goes on!!!
