Honda-effing-Pilot.net — Deer Car Guise

Attached you can see the positive terminal on my battery is loose and occasionally comes far enough up the post to where the car won’t start. No problem for me because I just scratch my balls, get out and push it back down so it works again. Not so simple if you are a 46 year old redhead female that knows nothing about cars and gets anxious when things don’t go right. This happens every six months or so, and now that she is the main driver of the vehicle what is the fooking fix for this so I don’t have to worry about her calling me in a panic?
For the record, I will accept “put a new terminal on” but keep in mind that is what got me in this position to begin with.

Get new battery cables with molded in battery connections.
Oct 15, 2019, 3:52 PM

I last used one of those bolt on deals when I was in high school. They are a terrible fix, waiting to leave you stranded at the worst possible time.
If you don't do that, remove the tightening bolt, spread the battery terminal end out so it correctly fits the battery post, then tighten it back up with the bolt you just removed.

Put a second nut on it, tighten both all the way down. Lock washer may also do the trick.

It won't fix the immediate problem but dancing there on the weekend shift might put you in position to afford a car that runs, I mean.

tighten it back down, and then drill radially through the clamp, through the post, and back through the other side of the clamp. Put a bolt through the hole, slather it with red lock tite - not that blue poonanny stuff - and torque it until it breaks, then back it off a quarter turn.
