The 1967 team won the old North-South Doubleheader in Charlotte beating NC State and UNC back to back.
We beat UNC in the ACC tournament in 1996 ... enjoy another look ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIT9vJv1frQ
Isn't that about it?

Good pull. I remember now ... the North South-Double Header win was in 1964. Seems as if we beat UNC in Charlotte in 1967 too, but just as a random game played on a "neutral" court.

Charlotte in 1964 Charlotte in 1967 Greensboro in 1996
Greensboro might as well be Chapel Hill. Charlotte less so, but still not neutral in any respect.
That 4th win somewhere in the state of North Carolina must have been way back in the 30s or something.

While the Dung Dome

was being built, the blues played in Carmichael (sic) on campus. I saw several of the North/South games but NEVER saw one that was officiated fairly. That was the series where I saw the heel football player knock Suits teeth out with no foul. As I recall, Coach Locke took the team off the court and refused to finish the game. The more things change the more they stay the same ... for Tiger basketball

plans for the Dome.
The thing you hated about the old North -South Double Header was that it forced you in to a decision to pull for the gamecocks (vs NCSU or UNC) or not. I always still chose "not", LOL.
