1900 and 1948 Clemson National Champions

If we do join the SEC do we get to retroactively claim two more National Championships?

1900 and 1948 - both undefeated..


The 1900 team …
Coached by none other than John Heisman…
Defeated future SEC members Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina …

Outscored opponents 222-10

The 1948 team...defeated SEC teams (some present and some future)- Missouri, Auburn, Mississippi State, and South Carolina...while putting together an 11-0 record...


In a forerunner of things to come...the Big Ten (Big Nine at the time) Champion played a shortened season of 9 games and was proclaimed National Champs by the AP....turns out playing short seasons is nothing new for the Big Ten...
