Princeton!

White had offers from Arizona State, Oregon State, Tennessee, Utah and other D1 programs, but will pay his own way to play for the Tigers. Ivy League schools do not offer athletic scholarships. First ESPN 300 recruit ever for Princeton.

Duh!!! Well, THATS a "No Brainer"! At least

It's refreshing that one of these kids "gets it" and realizes life goes on long after football (or pick your sport) goes on. I'd much rather have a sheeps skin saying "Princeton" on it (along with that academic experience) anyway than one saying "Arizona State".

Now, if it came down to Princeton and Clemson?!?!?! Well, that's a whole other story!

If he's smart enough to get into Princeton, he's getting plenty of scholarship money, have no doubt. Is it 100%...may well be.

They generally don't offer merit scholarships either,

what he gets depends on his family's finances.

Indeed. AFAIK anyone who is accepted qualifies for need-based scholarships. If his family can't afford to pay, they won't have to.

Kudos to this young man. That would be quite an achievement to get that diploma from Princeton. Years ago I worked with a group of Ivy League grads (from Brown, Penn, Colgate) and it was an absolute pleasure to work with such quality individuals. They had excellent work ethics and knew how to ensure that all steps of a project were successful. I love to see athletes actually care about academics instead of the glory or paycheck. Again - kudos. I hope he does well.

He will not pay a dime for school.

I wonder if that's true. I'm sure if the Ivy League

Was willing to find an appreciably higher amount of "need" for football players, you would see more of this.

Its not like there aren't top notch educations that offer full rides (Duke, Stanford...). But either way, great for him.
