Roseanne's tweet was most likely off the cuff ignorance. Kimmel's quote was the act of 50 writers and himself parsing over every word in a deliberate attempt to dupe the avg moron (many on this board are still running with the narrative) with their lies regurgitating the DNC "blame Trump" movement.
ABC maybe shouldn't have cancelled him, but that is their prorogative. I would rather he stayed and got sued for spreading lies like Alex Jones. Then cancelled because his ratings suck.

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this."

Folks on both side, prior to having an ounce of information were clamoring to ascribe guilt to the other side. Did you miss all of the "radical left" did this stuff prior to a single piece of evidence coming out.

But the conversation is about what was going on over the weekend (hence the first part of the quote) when folks were getting drops of information and drawing wide conclusions to paint the murderer as part of the "other side."
You know this. You are either deflecting or trolling.

Kimmel could not have believed that his TV statement was true. You can argue that Kimmel, along with his many handlers, discussed the possibility of MAGA assassins vs Leftist assassins. Even with a decades-long entourage of left-wing kook handlers, it defies a shred of credibility that ALL of Kimmel’s handlers were unaware of the reports that a Kirk-hating tranny leftist was the primary suspect.
A lie isn’t simply a false statement. A lie is a false statement made by someone with malice of forethought I.e., by a person who knows what they are about to say is untrue, but they make the statement anyway.
Had Kimmel said ‘it MAY have been a MAGA guy,’ then he would not have been lying; he would simply doing his usual stupid, unfunny thing.
Instead, after being busted, he doubled down.
^^^^^^ this ^^^^^ is the kind of idiot around whom the leftists rally.
SMH.

He also danced all over the grave of Carlsons Fox career when he got canned. Didnt seem too concerned about free speech, blah blah blah in that scenario either, which is much more analogous than the Rosanne situation. Truth is leftie weirdos have no issue whatsoever with everyone else getting canned for things they say or do yet when it happens to them suddenly its a democracy impacting injustice. Tells you all you need to know about their narcissistic tendencies.

Carlson was fired for knowingly lying and fabricating information as a NEWS REPORTER. His lies cost Fox millions in a lawsuit. No journalist should keep their job for what Carlson did.
Kimmel is a comedian and not held to the same standards. I think some of y'all have a hard time understanding what late night guys are.
It's also amazing how much y'all pretend to celebrate free speech and the things Kirk said, but you're eager to see people punished for speaking their opinions about the murder.
You know who would call your ### out on that? Charlie Kirk. The man stood for free speech.
When South Park completely blasted Kirk, he loved it. As we type, the producer of Kirk's show is asking them to re-air the episode.
Maybe y'all need to grow up a little.

Didnt aay it was a perfect comparison only better than Rosanne or Gina Carano. Ive already said on here I didn't think what Kimmel said rose to the level of him needing to be fired but if his employeers and their advertisers/affiliates feel differently thats their prerogative.
They supposedly offered him an opportunity to apologize but he refused so he got suspended. Doesn't seem unusual for a show hemorrhaging money and with an intransigent host who refuses to do as requested by management to get the boot.
And Kimmel himself is no defended of free speech as his obvious glee at seeing literally anyone other than himself get canned for expressing the "wrong" opinions will attest.

He had nothing to apologize for.
Again, if this was just ABC acting, then oh well. But the issue at play here is Trump and the FCC's threats to coerce ABC.

That Kimmel refused to take the advice of his employer, and then doubled down in his (yes, it was indeed) lie, then he chose an action that displeased his employer.
People who are / had been employed in the public sector for their careers have trouble getting their minds around the following: Emoloyers routinely fire employees that they determine are of more harm than attribute to the employer.
ABC weighed the circumstances and chose to fire Kimmel.
You can thank me at your leisure for enlightening you about how things work outside of the Liberal eco-pod.

What he said was not a lie, and also did not, at all, disparage Charlie Kirk or his family.
He, correctly, pointed out that before an ounce of evidence was out MAGA commentators and politicians were painting the (then unknown, or at best little known) murderer as a far left terrorist.
I mean, I suppose he could've apologized for pointing that out.

If Trump called ABC and demanded anyone be fired I would not agree. However if ABC decided to cut loose a money losing, no ratings idiot who gave management the middle finger when told to apologize, then I dont really care either way, whether I think he should have gotten canned for it or not. The idea that ABC made this move entirely because of mean old Trump is nonsense, just as it was nonsense when CBS got rid of Colbert.
