Like I said earlier today a few times. Fire everyone but Dabo. Hire a GM with no connection to Dabo to rehire the staff. Clean out the rot.

At that point, just fire Dabo too. Pass a law saying SC can't be sued for breach of contract, then fire him. Sovereign immunity kicks in and he's ######.

I think Dabo just needs a wake up call, not be fired. If he wants to walk so be it - he gets no buyout.

Interesting, but a fair analysis would need to:
1. Compare to who was in whatever roles we are talking about (note this list doesn’t share their roles) when Clemson won two natties under Dabo.
2. How does this compare to who other programs hire for similar roles. Many schools hire former players for some roles… eventually.
3. How many names on this list have past coaching experience, at high schools or such. Thus being complete "no experience, nepotism" hires a harder claim to make.
Interesting list nonetheless.

Number of “Group Think” appears so incestuous that, that place is clearly being starved of “perspective”! Wow!
As smart as I would think he is, how could Dabo even think the optics of this would be acceptable?!?!?!
It’s not like we have been having the success over the last 5-6 years…as a matter of fact, we’ve clearly continued to slide.
How could he actually believe it would be wise to have so many of his disciples in house and it would be ok? Especially since the numbers don’t lie!
Maybe Graham Neff is also suffering from Idol worship and can’t even tell Dabo when the baby was ugly. Davi has shown bad judgment like this in the past, in my opinion, when he gave his boys schollies. I don’t care if he donated the $$$ back to the program ten fold; it’s still took up schollies and his Sons wouldn’t have been good D-II players

That's one. To name just a few of Saban's: Kirby Smart, Mark Dantonio, Steve Sarkisian, Lane Kiffin, Jimbo Fisher, Mario Cristobal, Dan Lanning, Billy Napier, Mike Locksley, Brent Key, Curt Cignetti, Charles Huff, Butch Jones, Will Muschamp, Mel Tucker, Jim McElwain,
I find it interesting that when you can't respond on the merits you go directly to personal invective when you don't even know me or anything about me.

How many of them have been coaches at other places ??
Thats all I want. I get the GA spots, but you should have to go out in the world and prove yourself. And then you will also be able to bring back fresh persepectives and new ideas.
Postition coaches as former players with no coaching experience needs to stop now.
Its like PAW Journey is only coacing spots if you can't find a job in the real world for those that don't make an NFL roster.
I see where I think Dabo thought it would work... He had an amazing run and what better people to maintain the culture than coaches on his staff that he recruited, played for him, and now will instill the culture with the new kids. But you have to know how to coach. And playing well and coaching well are two different things.
I love Ben Boulware's intensity.... but coaching the LBs is a whole lot different. In what world would he be a coach at any other program as a LB coach? The Swinney kids... come on. Dabo earned his spot in the world. His kids did not.

Two things to consider………Dabo went from a position coach to head coach-and he wants to help them do it too.
Only thing wrong w/that reasoning? Very few of that list are Dabo smart or have worked like he did out of poverty.
He should know now.

That was me on Reddit. And Twitter. And another Clemson website. I love Dabo and deeply appreciate what he’s done for Clemson - the university, the city and the football program. I also think a lot of him as a human being and scoff at any suggestion he be fired. That said, the nepotism has to stop. He might think he’s helping out former players, etc. but it has become very obvious that his helping former players, friends and family is a hindrance to his current players and the program he’s taken to the heights of success. It’s my opinion that Clemson’s football staff is not comprised of the best possible personnel and it is evident in the product. I’ve always thought that Dabo likes winning more than being right and hope he either makes some difficult decisions during this offseason about the program - roster and staff - on his own accord or is made to make some difficult decisions by his boss, AD Neff. I very rarely post on this board, but wanted folks to understand my intent of collecting this list.

I hate to break it to you… But your little nepotism list… It's just a list of coaches that help Clemson win 2 Natty's. Dabo started pushing the friends and family plan out the door...and look where it got us.
Just look at the stats buddy! We were at our peak friends and family plan was in full effect. For some reason one by one we picked off all the people that actually know how to win at that level. And replace them with people with lots of people that had no ties to Clemson.
This is not my opinion, just straight up facts. Also,if you think this is just an assistant coach/coordinator problem or player problem...you are sorely mistaken.

It might not have been the same people but I am pretty sure Elliot, Scott and Streeter were familiar faces around campus before they were coaches. And yes there are a few names on the list that were around during the championship years. I imagine there are some more Clemson guys that were around that have moved on since the championship years.
At this point, who knows what's wrong. Dabo fired 3 inside hires and went out of the program to get the current OC, DC and OL coach. Lower level coaches and support staff having ties to a university is common everywhere and not the main problem at the moment.

Just looking into one name from this list, Andrew Zow, because I remember him as a QB from pre-Saban Bama days! If you look up his bio, he had years of experience in coaching roles at high schools in FL and Alabama before coming here to be an offensive analyst.
This list seems like a bit of propaganda. Analysts, many with lots of non-Clemson experience already. Seems like looking for a boogeyman to blame for bad season thus far. Truth, there’s no easy answers just work to do to get better.

I have three comments on this.
1. This is not a nepotism list. 3 total are actually nepotism.
2. Granting you mean friends and family, not true nepotism, I think this is common. People hire others that they know and have experience with all the time.
3. The NCAA changed the rules a while back which greatly limited the ability of coaches to witness other coaches (outsiders) in action. Dabo used Summer camps to bring in outsiders and see how they train and teach. He hired Bates that way. With that being made illegal, it became much more likely to hire from within.

List is BS, most are support staff versus being position coaches. I can understand critiquing inexperienced position coaches, not sure how Eason made the list. He didn't play under Dabo and had nfl and college coaching experience.

Chad Morris & Brent Venables had NO connection and they built this beast! Why in the #### would you ever change this recipe..unless you become full of “yourself”..and now the sad times😤

Riley looked like the hottest OC in football at TCU and Allen has an incredible resume. Morris and Venables were hired as HCs. So, what are you talking about?

only one I disagree with is Nick Eason, guy had 7 years of NFL experience before coaching here. So yes he is a former player but I wouldn't call that one a Neppo hire.

I see maybe 3 people on this list that had experience at their position outside of Clemson before being hired at Clemson….

I see your point. Who these days doesn’t? I think he’s trying to build a lasting Clemson legacy that is a source, a fountainhead. Seems to have hit a hitch here, though. But I still love it that Clemson graduates players and educates them holistically and develops their character because I love Clemson even more than football. Football was the best, most fun part of the fall, but it was part of the whole student experience. A big part, but a part. Ford made GREAT teams but also left us with a couple of decades of embarrassment until UNC did way worse and got a pass for it. Anyway, I still favor Dabo’s program and have faith in where he puts his faith, and I hope he continues to be a change agent in this rapacious pro sports environment, maybe rallying enough folks to bring sanity and rules into favor again. But I’d like to see a few more players who fit the position and the team, not just the program. Get more raw edged killas in place of the nice church boys - hey, maybe they’re converted eventually! Keep the overall tone but let it be challenged from inside, you know? Well, that’s just me. Go, Tigers.

What I don’t understand is how the casual fan, like myself, could see this train wreck coming from miles away, but Dabo can’t? Or maybe he just doesn’t care

No WOnder the wheels have come off.
The optics, alone, either reveal a continuing or growing lack of awareness due to an embarrassment of success, or a shockingly low EQ.
Dabo can’t be this big of an idiot so, please…someone weigh in with a reasonable psychoanalysis of what’s really going on!

How pissed are yall going to be when Dabo quits and Tony Elliott replaces him. He is an 8-4 season at UVA away from being the most likely replacement.

Kirby Smart. No we're gonna replace him with some up an comer like Norvell or some old assistant coach like Elliot or Billy Napier.
Children... get all your negative comments out of your systems, take a deep breath, and then let Dabo handle it.
