CLEMSON – Former Clemson linebacker Leroy Hill was selected in the third round of the NFL draft on Saturday by the Seattle Seahawks. Hill was the 35th pick of the third round and 98th pick overall. Hill is the 12th Clemson linebacker to be selected in the first 5 rounds of the NFL draft in the last 13 years.
Hill was named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year this past season. The senior had a team-high 106 tackles, including 19 for loss, and eight sacks to rank among the ACC and national leaders. He finished with 310 career tackles, 15th-most in Clemson history, despite starting only two seasons. The NFL draft will continue with rounds 4 through 7 on Sunday.
