at an Evening Event:

“How to Win Big in a Down Real Estate Market”

Greenville, SC - Clemson Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney is known for his fiery pep talks to his football team, but on the evening of Monday June 7th he’ll be firing up a different crowd: real estate investors.

The primary organizer of the event and co-speaker with Swinney is another Clemson Football connection, former Academic All-American linebacker Chad Carson. Carson now works full time as a real estate investor and real estate coach in the Upstate.

According to Carson, “Most economic news today only scares people. With this event we wanted to give a local, positive perspective on why this is the prime time to get in the game of buying real estate as an investment. What better guy to give investors a boost than Coach Swinney.”

The event will also be used to raise money for Coach Swinney’s charity, Dabo’s All-in Team Foundation. All proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will be donated. Tickets cost $19.97 a piece and also include entry for a spouse or family member.

Swinney is no stranger to real estate or to business. Swinney worked for AIG Baker Real Estate on development projects in Alabama, from April 2001 through February 2003, before being hired to coach at Clemson. Swinney also earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama while a graduate assistant under coach Gene Stallings.

In addition to Swinney and Carson, other speakers at the event will be Upstate businessmen and real estate investors, Leighton Cubbage and Steve Mudge.

Cubbage, a 1977 Clemson graduate in political science, is currently a Partner with Serrus Partners, a prominent investment fund built to leverage cash in the current real estate market. During his career, he was part of the team that founded multiple companies including New South, NuVox, Upstate Automotive, Ionosphere, Greenville Journal, E.C. Transportation, and Greenville First Bank.

Mudge, also a Clemson graduate, is currently president of Serrus Partners. During his career and prior to founding Serrus, he served as Executive Vice President for Mixed-Use and Residential Development at Ritz-Carlton and Marriott. Steve has also served as Vice President of Planning and Development for Centex Destination Properties, part of Centex Corporation (NYSE: CTX) and as Vice President - Project Management for Greg Norman/Macquarie Bank’s Medallist Golf Developments.

The event will be held at the Embassy Suites at 670 Verdae Boulevard in Greenville on Monday June 7th from 7-9pm. Registration begins at 6pm. For tickets or more information visit www.CoachCarson.com.
