Clay Withdraws From School |
CLEMSON - Clemson linebacker Antonio Clay has withdrawn from school for the spring semester of 2008, Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden announced on Thursday. "Antonio has left school due to personal reasons," said Bowden. "He will not be in school this semester. That is all we know at this time." In early September of 2006, Clay's sister and her child lost their lives in an automobile accident near his hometown of Jeffersonville, GA. Clay returned to school last summer and played as a reserve linebacker for the Tigers this past season. Clay started one game, the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Auburn, and played in all 13. He finished the season with 43 tackles. He had 95 tackles during the 2006 season when he was the team's third leading tackler.
