Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference on Tuesday morning to preview the upcoming ACC Championship against Virginia Tech on Saturday night on ABC.

Swinney said that defensive tackle Scott Pagano is doing well in his rehab but is listed as out on the latest injury report.

"He is probably ahead of schedule," Swinney said. "He is really doing well. He wants to play this week. I don't know if that is realistic. He probably could play, but I don't know if he could play winning football like we need. But he is working really hard towards that."

Defensive end Richard Yeargin is also close to returning but is listed as questionable on the injury report with his knee injury.

"Same thing with Yeargin," Swinney said. "Yeargin is going to be close, but I don't know if he will quite make it by the weekend so probably the same thing (as Pagano). Both of those guys will be raring to go once we get into our bowl prep."

Freshman offensive lineman John Simpson is looking good physically after an injury scare on Saturday night.

"John Simpson looks good. He actually looks really good," Swinney said. "I think he has a chance for this weekend."

Defensive back Adrian Baker is still out on the injury report for the upcoming game against Virginia Tech.

"Baker is not going to play," Swinney said. "He is just practicing. He is not in a position now where we are now in the season to compete. He's much better. He's more confident, but he is not in a position to compete for playing time."

Swinney had no new update on offensive lineman Jake Fruhmorgen battling a personal issue.

"I don't have any update at this point," Swinney said.
