From the Post and Courier:

Burrell, who has committed to play for the Tigers, had a key role on last year's team that went 13-1, losing a heartbreaking, 41-34, decision to Northwestern in the Class AAAA Division II state semifinals. The loss has motivated him to go out a winner.

"It's a matter of doing the extra stuff," said the 6-1, 205-pound senior. "This year, we're a lot more motivated. You always want to play in a state championship, and it becomes urgent when you are a senior. This year's state championship will be up in Clemson. That means something to me: to get to play there a year early."

Burrell isn't big, but he's physical and fast. At a recent combine in Charlotte, Burrell ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds, recorded 35 1/2 inches in the vertical jump and did 19 repetitions of 180 pounds in the bench press. That's some of the reasons why he is considered to be one of the top linebackers/strong safeties in the country. Rivals has him listed as the No. 39 linebacker in the country while Scout lists him as the No. 62 strong safety.
