As he watched his mom, Debbie Young, stood proudly from across the room, Adams thought about the long night shifts she has worked for the past 14 years, most recently at the local Tyson Foods plant. With his father not part of his life, it was on Young to take care of Montravius and his three sisters. "I am really thankful for what she has sacrificed," Adams said, "just so I can play this game. I hope to make her proud." Young said her son has never gotten into trouble, only needing simple advice to prevent him from harm's way. "I always told him to think what about he does before he does it," Young said. "He always thought of me and I am thankful that my kids never got in trouble."
"It feels great to put Dooly County on the map and to be in such a big game[UA All-America Game]," Adams said. "I am happy to inspire others in this town to work hard and do big things."
