3-star safety
K'Von Wallace from Highland Springs, Virginia committed to Clemson over Ohio State on Wednesday morning.
Wallace announced at his high school but also tweeted about his commitment to Clemson on Wednesday morning. "First and foremost I just wanna thank God, my Mom, and my Coaches for even making this possible. Also, I wanna thank all the coaches that offered me and opportunity to play at there university. Without further adue I wanna announce that I have decommitted from the University of Cincinnati and sign to Clemson University on a full Football scholarship!" Wallace was a significant need depth-wise for the Tigers because of the two starting safeties (T.J. Green, Jayron Kearse) that left early for the NFL Draft. TigerNet spoke with Wallace last week, and he said that Clemson made quite the impression. "Clemson really opened my eyes and gave me a lot to think about. I can't say anything bad about Clemson. What stood out was how everybody came together, even the coaches. That was really good to see. It's a family atmosphere." Clemson defensive back coach Mike Reed had the following message to Wallace. "He just told me it's a wonderful opportunity. I can jump right in and play." The Clemson coaching staff offered the DB/WR as a defensive back, and Wallace talked about playing defensive back vs. wide receiver on the college level. "I don't care," Wallace said. "I just have to find the school that's best for me. I will play defensive back if that's where the coaches want me to play." His offer list includes Arizona, Cincinnati, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Texas State, Virginia Tech and others. As a senior, he had 718 yards receiving, 376 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns to help lead his team to a 5A state title and was named First-team all-state as a wide receiver and a defensive back. He even played some wildcat quarterback and returned kicks this past season for Highland Springs. Some of his physical measurables (non-verified) include a 4.10 shuttle, 38.2-inch vertical jump, 245-pound bench press, 325-pound squat and an 11.1 100 meters.
