They're back...for a limited time.

Mr. Knickerbocker is returning to downtown Clemson on May 24 for a few weeks, the store announced Wednesday on their Facebook page.

The owners of Peppino's Pizza have some extra retail space beside them which used to be the Clemson Copy Center.

"Frank and Joe Cortese, owners of Peppino’s Pizza has so graciously offered us some temporary retail space," Mr. Knickerbocker's FB posted. "After hearing how we were given such a short abrupt notice to vacate out of our former place of 45 years, they invited us to open next to them to continue our sale. Our new temporary sale store will be at 384 College Avenue, Clemson, (Rubin Square, formerly Clemson Copy Center). Come by and shop for some great deals with lots of free parking spaces and stop in Peppino’s for a slice of their amazing pizza! We will open Thursday May 24th at 9:00 am. We still have lots of great items available and adding more daily!! This is a true testament to what a small town is all about. Local family businesses helping local family businesses."

On May 3, the store announced their closing on their Facebook page.

"It is with great difficulty we announce the closing of our downtown Clemson location,” the store’s FB posted. "We will announce any new locations plans as soon as we finalize details. We have had the pleasure of serving so many amazing Clemson fans since 1973 at this location and we cherish all of our memories we have collected and our friendships we have made for a lifetime, for that has been our greatest pleasure and success. We love our Clemson customers and we hope to see you at our Hwy 123 location next to Publix in Clemson, our “Shops At Greenridge” location on Woodruff Road in Greenville and our sales outlet store in Central."

The store opened in April 1973 as a traditional Men's clothing store and eventually expanded to Clemson memorabilia.
