ESPN GameDay analyst makes Clemson-Alabama pick

ESPN GameDay analyst David Pollack has been a big proponent of Clemson all season, but he can't shake a certain feeling about tonight's Sugar Bowl rematch with Alabama.

Pollack was asked to make his pick for the game on the GameDay broadcast Monday morning, and he's taking Alabama to take the rubber match.

"When we started the Playoff season, I said Clemson 100 percent," Pollack said. "Now Alabama’s had a chance to get healthy. I don’t know why - I think Clemson’s the better team, but I feel Alabama is going to pull an upset. I think Alabama is going to remind us why they have been so great for so long. "I feel like Alabama makes Kelly Bryant pass the football enough and I don’t think he does it that great today. Force a few turnovers and somehow, some way Alabama wins the game."

Alabama is currently a 3.5-point favorite for the 8:50 p.m. kickoff in New Orleans.

Pollack tabbed Clemson as his Playoff favorite in early December.

"Clemson’s defensive line is dirty," Pollack said, "by far the most talented front in the country with guys who can two-gap and consistently rush the passer. I would lean Clemson because down the stretch they’ve been the most complete team. I don’t think Clemson’s secondary has been tested that much. I think when they get tested, maybe Oklahoma in the championship game, that’s their weakness."
