has been taken to the locker room after the medical staff was looking at him closely. It appears that he hit his right hand on a defensive lineman's helmet late in the first quarter.

Senior quarterback Cole Stoudt is in the game now.

We will update Watson's condition once we get more information from the SID, but the Clemson radio broadcast said it was Watson's right index finger.

Update: According to the SID, Watson has a hand injury and is out for the game.

Update: Swinney said during ESPN's halftime interview that Watson broke his right index finger and pointed to an area above his thumb.

Update: Watson returns from the locker room at the beginning of the third quarter. He is wearing a large cast on his right hand.

Update: According to close sources, Watson is expected to miss an estimated five weeks.
